Here's a video from back stage at Idol when they announced the winner. It's kinda funny how no one seems too excited and some seem shocked!

All is right with the world today!
I have printed our boarding passes
My husband is out running last minute errands including getting the clothes washed
I'm counting down the hours until I'm official on vacation
And ADAM LAMBERT made it to the finale on American Idol!!!!!!
What a perfect day!
One more thing, I haven't been able to find someone to blog for me so I'll be blogging but it's going to be an hour later than normal. I think that will still be fine for the peeps on the West Coast. I wish I could figure out something else but it's just not working out. I'm still going to try to work something out for the results night so we can find out who wins as soon as possible. I'm pretty sure I can get that done. So expect to find out who wins when the East Coast does!
In celebration of everything that is right with this world, I'm posting some pictures I took about a week and a half ago.
ENJOY!
I spent some time today reading the Idol blogs that I like to read and I've come to a few conclusions:
1. Adam had a bad night (it wasn't just me)
2. Adam on a bad night was still better than Danny on a good night
3. Kris had the best song of the evening with "Heartless"
4. Some people put "One" next and some people like "Cryin'" better. Either way, Adam's songs were 2nd and third best of the night
5. Four judges are too many
6. We are all tired of the judges trying to make the show about them
7. "You are so Beautiful" was NOT a vocal master class (WTF, Simon?!?!)
8. Many people would like to bash Kara in the head with a microphone
9. Danny should NEVER dance
10. Only one person heard the same bum note that Paula did during "Apologize"
11. Overall, it was a good show
That being said, it's time to get rid of one of these guys and begin the wrap-up of this, the eighth season of American Idol!!!
Ben Stiller is shilling for his new movie along with three other funny dudes. I thought the end was pretty funny! I laughed!
Kevin Bacon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy!!!!
88 million votes last night! WOW! That's a lot. There were only 1 million separating the top two.
Ryan tells us that Jordan Sparks and Katy Perry are on the show tonight. I'm not sure if they are live or taped.
We head straight to the Ford video and it kinda sucks...like most of the Ford videos this year. I did laugh at Danny's "cartoon power". It reminded me of Moses!
Alicia Keyes is on the show to talk about Keep a Child Alive and is asking us for $5.00 to help the kids. Noah, a kid from Africa is singing a song. Cute kid.
Ryan hypes the tour.
Danny is asked to join Ryan on the stage. They talk about seeing Jamar again and then show his homecoming footage. I wonder if they'll show the train wreck that was "Billie Jean". Danny's female stalker kept her clothes on. Big crowd!
Ryan give him his recap...and he is told to take a seat on the couch.
Kris is next. Hey! I found out that a guy that I went to school with (Derek), his wife works with Kris's mom! Big crowd! He gets mobbed. Awww! We get to see him with his family. Kris's female stalker was a guy in drag...I think. I liked his homecoming better than Danny's.
Ryan give Kris his recap...and he is sent to the couch too.
Jordan is up with Battlefield. It's live and it doesn't look lip-synced! I think the song will do well but the performance isn't that great. Meh. It was okay.
HEY!!!!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GROUP SING????
Cheese Nips are better than Cheez-its. In case you were wondering.
Glee looks Fan-Dam-Tastic!!!! I'm soooo going to watch that!
It's Adam's turn!!! In case you missed it, Rhonda and Leslie went to Adam's homecoming. I posted pics two posts down. Check it out! His body guard is huge! He's talking about MET! There's Kathie! I looked for Rhonda and Leslie but didn't see them. They showed part of the half naked stalker. Adam is AWESOME!!!!
Ryan give him his recap...he is sent to the couch too.
Katy Perry is live next. She's doing "Waking Up In Vegas" or so I've heard. I love this song. I suggested it to my mom for her "Vegas" iPod mix for our Vegas trip last year. My Uncle Neal said that he thought she was going to be a one hit wonder with "I Kissed a Girl". I told him that "Waking Up in Vegas" was awesome...I was right!
OMG!!! Katy Perry is wearing an AWESOME cape!!!!!!! I'm not going to say any more!!! It's another live, non-lip-synced performance. Love Her!!! Love her even more after tonight! WAY love her!!!
It's time!!!!!!!!!
The first person in next week is Kris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to be sick!
I'm having a heart attack again!
The other person in the finale is ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the battle of the Hometown Heroes! Let the sausage-fest begin!
It's the 300th episode of Idol tonight! WOW!
They are running some clips from the hometown visits. They show Danny's clip from when he got his song choice. Ryan chats with Paula about the song choice.
Danny - Dance Little Sister (1-866-436-5701 or 1-866-436-5704 or 1-866-436-5707 or text "vote" to 5701)
He seems extra shouty tonight and he's dancing like a chicken. The scatting/sax thing was interesting but not REAL interesting. It really seemed to me like he shouted most of the time. I'm sure the judges will love it because they want an Adam/Danny finale. Randy says way to jump it off, dude, that was dope for me, dude. Kara calls him out on the dancing. Paula thinks he did...REALLY GOOD. Then she talks about his magic part. Simon didn't like the dancing or the sax thing.
Kris - Apologize (1-866-436-5702 or 1-866-436-5705 or 1-866-436-5708 or text "vote" to 5702)
They show Kris getting his song from Randy and Kara (Randy must have gotten the short straw). Kris is singing it "A-pologize" and not "pologize". Sounds odd. I think this sound too much like the original. Kris should know that only Danny is allowed to be Karaoke. Randy calls it nice. Kara calls it competent but says he should have hit it out of the park. Paula talks about the song sitting somewhere and then talks about a bum note. Simon picks on Paula again and then SLAMS Kara!! Oh Snap!!! Fight at the judges table! That's almost worth watching again.
Adam - One (1-866-436-5703 or 1-866-436-5706 or 1-866-436-5709 or text "vote" to 5703)
Simon picked this for him. Simon had to clear the song with Bono. I liked the beginning but the arrangement was odd. It was quiet and soft in the beginning, got louder and louder until the screaming rock wail and then all the sudden quiet again at the end. Not his best but it was the arrangement, not him. It really pains me to write that. I watched it again to make sure. I REALLY loved the beginning right up to the shouty, over the top middle. I also liked the ending. The audience seems to love it. Randy calls him one of the hottest 3 in the show (DUH!). Kara calls it unbelievable. Paula babbles on about Simon. Simon calls it a brilliant song choice. Har, har, har. He also says that if Adam isn't in the finale, it will be the worst thing the show has ever seen (or something like that).
Idol gives back update - I'm not watching.
Danny - You Are So Beautiful (1-866-436-5701 or 1-866-436-5704 or 1-866-436-5707 or text "vote" to 5701)
Danny gets some chair time to talk to Ryan about his song choice. He likes to repeat himself. YUCK! He changed into a gospel-type song. Like I said last week, "Danny, you don't have to take EVERY song to church." I didn't like it at all. I'm sure his fans and the judges will love it. Randy says he can sing...again. Kara calls it stunning. Paula speaks for everyone and says he left everyone breathless. No, Paula, just you and Danny were breathless after that one. Simon didn't like the arrangement but calls it a vocal masterclass. I just have one thing to say to that WTF?!?!?!!? Danny talks to much! Stop talking to him, Ryan!!!
Kris - Heartless (1-866-436-5702 or 1-866-436-5705 or 1-866-436-5708 or text "vote" to 5702)
He also chats with Ryan about song choice but VERY briefly. They so don't want him to make it tomorrow. WOW! I have to say...I LOVED IT! I love arrangements that really turn a song into something 180 degrees different and this did it. Who know Kanye West could sound so good. For the first time this season, I will be buying a song from some one other than Allison, Alexis and Adam ( I have a thing for the "A" names this year). If he doesn't make it into the final two, it will be a miss carriage of justice! Randy likes this version better than the original. I agree! Kara calls it brave, bold, and fearless. Paula says something about Simon...again. Simon says he had written Kris out of the finale until that performance.
Adam - Cryin (1-866-436-5703 or 1-866-436-5706 or 1-866-436-5709 or text "vote" to 5703)
He gets to talk to Ryan too. I think Adam is getting screwed tonight. First a crappy arrangement and now the background singer drowns him out. WTF?? It was good but I'm worried. I'm real worried. I think he forgot some of the words too. Vote people!! I'm hoping that it's just me. PLEASE someone tell me that it was just me. Maybe it's the beer. I normally have vodka. Randy calls him one of the best ever on the stage. Kara says see you at the finale. Paula says he will be in next week. Simon warns America about voting and says Adam deserves it. I don't think I've said this before but I love Adam's laugh. Adam gives props to Danny and Kris. Adam seems like such a great guy!
Here is my order of the night:
1. Kris - Heartless
2. Adam - Cryin
3. Adam - One
4. Kris - Apologize
5. Danny - Dance Little Sister
6. Danny - You are so Beautiful
I guess I shouldn't be too worried. Adam did well just not as well as I was hoping. I was also hoping that he was going to sing "Wicked Game" which would have been haunting. Anyway, Vote, Vote, Vote!!!!!
Last Friday was the day when the final three contestants on American Idol went back home for parades and lots of waving. Kris went somewhere in middle America as did Danny while Adam stayed in sunny California and headed south to his home town of San Diego.
As luck would have it, Two of my friends (who I have yet to meet in real life but will someday) got the opportunity to go the San Diego and join in the festivities. They were kind enough to take a few minutes to answer some of my questions.
Leslie and Rhonda had an EXCELLENT time yesterday at all the Adam festivities and have posted some great pictures on Facebook including this gem! I'm going to be interviewing them about their day in fan-land and posting it here along with more picture. It will be up no later than Monday evening. Be sure to check back!
With the advancement of Ty Murray on Dancing With The Stars and Danny turning in one of the worst Idol performances EVER, will America send Danny packing thus making this the BEST. REALITY TV WEEK. EVER? I hope so! That would be fabulous. I really want an Adam/Allison/Kris final three and then an Adam/Allison finale. If that happens, I'll know that Idol loves me back!
Before we get going, this is your last chance to run away if you don't want to be spoiled. I'm doing this live from the East Coast as fast as I can. Results shows are much easier to live blog than performance shows so I should be able to keep up with real time...most of the time.
Oh! One more thing! I'd like to say a big HOWDY to all the new readers! I posted a link on Adam's dad's post and I got a bunch of new readers. I hope everyone enjoyed my blog and will come back!
CUE DRAMATIC RECAP and away we go!
64 million votes last night!! WOW! Good going everyone!
Tonight we get No Doubt, Chris Daughtry, and Paula Abdul before we find out if Danny is going home. Will this filler crap ever end?!?!
The Ford commercial sucked. Why are they relying so heavily on computers for the commercials this year?
Slash and his band (it looks like) are on stage playing for the group sing. The kids are doing School's Out by Alice Cooper. I know it's by Alice Cooper because is says so on my Guitar Hero game. Slash reminds me of why I will NEVER get to expert on that game (Hard it's too shabby though). Over all, I liked it! I love Rock and Roll and this songs Rocks! Adam and Allison were awesome. Kris was barely noticeable and Danny did almost as bad with this song as he did last night. Danny, you can't take Rock song to church. Please stop trying. Slash really looks like the Guitar Hero cartoon.
Ryan chats with Slash about his new album.
We're back. Ryan chats with the kids. Adam liked his outfit from last night. Danny talks about not hitting the note at the end. He takes it well and thinks it was really funny. His Aunt hit mute during that. Allison talks about sassing Simon.
Paula is next after a video intro package. I think we know who she is by now. Is this live? I don't think so. This is really bad. If you can fast forward, I'm going to.
I was behind for a little bit due to the Ford commercial and the group sing but Paula's craptastic performance caught me back up! Yeah Paula!
We're back and chatting with Paula. They really didn't need to pretend that she did it live.
No Doubt with Just A Girl. I don't know if it's live because the kids are gone and so are the judges. This is way confusing. It looks lip synced in parts but in other parts it doesn't. What gives? I didn't like that at all and I LOVE No Doubt. I guess it is live. Very odd.
I found out that No Doubt and Paula were recorded last night. The No Doubt performance is still bothering me. Let me know if it bothered you.
We're back! The kids are standing back stage. Ryan reminds of that the final three get to go home for a day of celebration. I still wish I would have driven down to Richmond for Elliott's homecoming. OH! They just showed it!! I still love him! I need to get his new CD.
Ryan shows us the seats of power...the winners go there. The order will be random. Allison, then Danny, then Adam and then Kris all get their recaps. One goes to safety and it is...Kris!
I know MANY people that will be happy!
We're back and it's time for Chris. We're reminded that he got booted in fourth place. It worked out fine for him. This is live. I'm still not a fan of his little thin beard. HEY! I stand like Chris when I play guitar and sing at the same time on Guitar Hero! I guess it's a natural thing to do. Well, I'm bored with this. I'm sure his fans and top 40 radio will eat this up but, unless it's on a NOW CD I happen to buy, I won't own it. Can you believe they are up to NOW 30! I remember getting NOW 3 for a friend's birthday. I guess that was about ten years ago. I getting old. Turning 40 this year by the way!
Ryan chats with Chris about the shocking boot heard 'round the world.
There are only ten minutes left so they HAVE to give us the results after this commercial break.
I'm NERVOUS!!!!!
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is coming soon!!!! I love that show and WILL be blogging! Join me won't you?
The remaining three stand on the stage. The second person safe is...ADAM!!!!
It's down to Allison and Danny. Danny is SAFE!!!!!!! CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!
CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!
This just in!!!!
Leslie and Rhonda are going to Adam's home coming! They will be doing a guest blog post here before next Tuesday's show!! Check back to get the scope!
I've been chatting with friends on Facebook and I've come to the following conclusion about tonight. I'm happy, sad, pissed and ambivalent all at the same time!
It Rock n' Roll Week People!!!! Let's hope it's an awesome show and that there are NO ballads. I don't know about you but I'm ballad-ed out!
I heard a rumor that there are going to be duets tonight. That could be either good or bad...we shall see!
Slash is going to be the mentor tonight. I hope he's going to play on all the songs tonight. Do you think Idol paid him enough to do that?
We get the usual recap of last weeks results show. In case we forgot that Adam was in the bottom two!!!
Ryan shows us that part of the stage almost fell down preventing the Idols from a proper rehearsal. Ryan also confirms the duet thing before introducing the judges. Yep, still four of those bad boys!.
The top four come out and Adam glammed it up for tonight! Allison's hair is rocking. Kris and Danny looking boring.
Slash video package. *snore* At least until the kids show up. Slash is mentoring them with the entire band. Bummer! Slash is sitting down.
OH NO!! Adam is first! The death spot!
Adam - Whole lotta love (1-866-436-5701 or or 5705 or text "Vote" to 5701)
Slash things Adam has some pipes. Adam wants to kill it. OMG! THAT was it!! I have to go with BEST. OF. THE. SEASON! It was awesome. It's the ending that completely makes the song. This one was off the charts! I'm in awe and in tears! Randy calls him a rock star tonight. That was hot. Kara calls him a rock god and tells him to kill it (then has an orgasm). Paula calls it perfect. Simon jokingly calls it understated. Simon calls it one of his favorites and says the problem is that no body can top that now. WOW!!!
Allison - Cry Baby (1-866-436-5702 or or 5706 or text "Vote" to 5702)
Allison and Ryan talk hair in the chairs. Her hair looks great. She did really well but it's got to be hard going right after Adam. I really liked this and I really like her. My dream would be to have an Adam/Allison finale but I'm not too sure that's going to happen. I wish she had gone last instead of right after Adam. I'm afraid people are going to forget about her. Randy didn't love it. Kara babbles on too long. Paula think she should play Janis. Simon thought it was terrific but think she should have picked the other one. Allison talks a little bit too much at the end which might backfire on her. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
The first duet is Kris and Danny doing Renegade by Stix. Well, that was different. I liked the beginning but when the tempo picked up it kinda fell apart, Kris more so than Danny. There were part that I thought "Gee, if I liked Danny, I would really like this." But then I was shocked back to my senses by that over the top ending riff. Randy liked the harmonies and the solo parts were okay. Kara thinks some parts were better than others. Paula calls it powerful. Simon says Danny was better than Kris. Danny thinks that song fits both of them. WTF? "Hangman is coming down from the gallows and I don't have very log." He's right. Those are the first words I think of when I hear "Worship Leader".
Kris - Come Together (1-866-436-5703 or or 5707 or text "Vote" to 5703)
Kris gets chair time to talk about song choice. Kris wanted to pee his pants during his Slash time. Ha Ha! I really wish he didn't sing sideways. It's so distracting to me. I would say that was along the same lines as Allison very good but no where near what Adam did. Randy wasn't blown away but loved his guitar playing. Kara calls him the softer side of rock. LOL! She didn't like it. Paula calls him an artist. Simon didn't like it that much and calls it boring. He also reminds us that he didn't think anyone would top Adam tonight and he is right so far. Poor Kris looks very sad.
Danny is next after the break. I was just thinking that Danny finally gets the pimp spot but it's not really the pimp spot because Adam and Allison are doing their duet last. Oh Snap! That is awesome! I am no longer quite as worried about Allison as I was in the beginning. Yeah!!
Danny - Dream On (1-866-436-5704 or or 5708 or text "Vote" to 5704)
OMG!! Danny sounds HORRIBLE in the video package. That was just weird. I don't think this song is suppose to contain scatting. What the hell is he trying to do? Does he not want to make it past tomorrow? Since I am not a Danny fan, that was the best performance I could hope for. Based on that, it will be Danny going home tomorrow. Is guess being the Vote For The Worst pick is really the kiss of death. Randy calls it alright. Kara babbles again buts ends up kissing his butt anyway. Paula does her best to pump him up too. Simon calls the last note a horror movie but still thinks he is going to be safe tonight. I hope he isn't. Ryan reminds us that Danny is the only one that hasn't been in the bottom three. Do I sense some foreshadowing? I certainly hope so.
Also, I really not worried about Allison now! Not after that train wreck!
Adam and Allison are last with Slow Ride by Foghat. This song makes me want to play Guitar Hero. That was MUCH better than Kris and Danny. WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!! Randy calls it da bomb! Kara loved it. Paula think they should do a duet. Simon...DAMN! There were some people in the audience chanting so Simon paused and Tivo switched to Deadliest Catch! I WANT NIGEL BACK!!! When he was running the show, the only thing I ever missed was part of the recap. I have to go find the video of what Simon said!! I'll be back!
Simon said that they won the battle of the duets and tells Adam that he just may have saved Allison. I don't think that Adam saved Allison, I think it's a combo of the duet being last and Danny sucking so bad.
I have to say that based on what just happened, Danny should be going home.
I can't wait until tomorrow!!!!!
Hey everyone! I have some news. My friends Bryan figured out that we will be in Deadwood, South Dakota for the finale I haven't figured out what time the show airs out there. I'm hoping to know soon. Regardless, I don't think I'm going to be able to blog. Don't worry just yet! I'm working on getting a guest blogger for the night. My friend Anne said that she would do it but she a Danny fan. Let me know what you think.
Enough of that, it's time for the show! The clips that opened the show tonight were extra dramatic. Ryan and Jamie Foxx together were over the top.
Ryan tell us that 47 millions vote came in last night. Paula is wearing something on the side of her head that reminds me of The Matrix. Taylor Hicks is one tonight. I think it's the first time he's been back on the show since winning.
Video time! I'm not into all the special effects they are using this year for the Ford commercials. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Group sing time! I liked the fact that they didn't lip sync. Kris can't snap fast. Nothing really made me smile or laugh so I'll call it a dud.
Back from commercial. We are treated to video of the kids baking cakes...and having a food fight. I wonder who had to clean the kitchen. They called in a cleaning service for $6,000.
All the kids are brought to the center of the stage. Matt gets his recap and is told to stand to the right. Danny is next and babbles for awhile before getting sent to the left side of the stage. Allison gets her recap and is told to stand next to Danny. Kris is next. After the recap and chat session, he is put on the right side of the stage with Matt. Adam is last and I'm wondering if he is going to get Huffed. Adam is huge compared to Ryan. I'm right, he got Huffed! He picks Danny and Allison but he is wrong!!!! Danny and Allison are safe and Adam, Kris and Matt are in the bottom three!! WTF!!!
I had to post that because I am in shock!!!!!
It should be Matt going home. I can't imagine that Adam will be leaving but it could be Kris because he did go first.
Natalie Cole is singing. WHY?!?!? I don't want to hear her!!!! I want to know who is going home!!! Son of a Biscuit-Eater!
She's still singing!!
Now Ryan is chatting with her! Get her off my TV!!
Now a commercial!!!!!
Crap! I hate this show right now!
Taylor Hicks is next. He's not sounding too bad but I'm too distracted to enjoy anything. I can't believe that we have to sit through this AND Jamie Foxx before we find out who is going home. Well, if it's Adam, I guess I wouldn't have to worry about getting a guest blogger. I can't think like that! Matt is going home! Not Adam!!!!!
Matt, Kris and Adam are called back to the stage and Ryan is going to send someone back to safety............it's KRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm having a heart attack!!!
Now it's Jamie Foxx. Don't they know they are killing me?!?!?! What the poop is this? This is number one? What is America thinking?
If Adam goes, I'm going to cry!
Ryan talks to Jamie again!!! STOP IT!!!!!
Adam and Matt are back on the stage. It better be Matt!! Jamie plugs his new movie which was kinda funny.
DARN COMMERCIAL!!!!!!!
We're back!!!
After the voting the person leaving Idol is Matt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to live and continue to watch American Idol! They better not do that to me again!
ETA - I goofed up the phone numbers!! They are fixed now.
In an effort to make the kids sound current, this week's theme is Songs from the Rat Pack Era. As someone on the Internets said "What's next? Songs from the Revolutionary War?" I agree. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Frank, Sammy and Dean. After all, my wedding song was Fly Me To The Moon". But isn't the Rat Pack a little TOO old for the kids? Since I don't have any control over it, I guess I'll stop bitching...for now.
Ryan and the kids are on my TV with overly dramatic lighting so IT'S SHOWTIME! Great. Two phone numbers each tonight. Jamie Foxx is the mentor. Why? Because he played Ray Charles? He is selling his new single. Whatever.
Kris - The Way You Look Tonight (1-866-436-5701 or 1-866-436-5706 or text "Vote" to 5701)
Jamie likes him, he REALLY, REALLY likes him! Me? Not so much. I still can't watch him which hurts his performance. What also hurts his performance was the way he blended words into each other and made it hard to understand. Here's an example. He sings "re-calls your nose" when it's "wrinkles your nose". I also thought the fast bit really didn't belong. I'm sure everyone else will love it. Randy is smiling and calls it his best to date. Kara says he set the technical standard so high tonight. Paula calls him a contemporary crooner. Simon thought it was good but just safe and nice. He doesn't think Kris can win.
Allison - Someone To Watch Over Me (1-866-436-5702 or 1-866-436-5707 or text "Vote" to 5702)
Allison starts with some extra chair time with Ryan. Ryan asks her about being the only girl left. She just turned 17 yesterday! I thought she looked older tonight. She looks wonderful. Jamie tells her to think about her family when she sings. I loved it! As Paula would say, she hit the right note with that one. I got misty. She is going to go far. She's unique and will have a wide appeal when she gets out into the regular world and out of Idol Land. Randy says she looks dope and he loved it! Kara says she isn't nervous for her anymore and says she should be in the finals. Paula calls it tender. Simon asks her if she thinks she can win and she says she does. Simon doesn't feel that in her and thinks she could be in trouble.
Matt - My Funny Valentine (1-866-436-5703 or 1-866-436-5708 or text "Vote" to 5703)
Matt is the new VFTW pick. I'm glad because that has become the kiss of death. He's living on borrowed time anyway. Matt is in the chairs with Ryan as well. He's wearing a hat tonight. He studied Jazz in college. Jamie tells him to change the key. I don't think he listened. He starts off too low and almost like he's just talking. The wind is starting to pick up so I might have to stop to close the windows. It's been super hot here and our AC isn't working right which sucks. Since the wind is picking up, it's getting cooler. I just that sums up what I thought about Matt's performance. He was so interesting that I talked about the weather. Randy doesn't look happy and calls it pitchy. Kara didn't feel the emotion. Paula loved it but Paula drinks. Simon disagrees with Randy and calls it believable. What the hell? I do NOT want Simon's iPod.
There is so much crappy filler tonight that I'm up to real time on my Tivo. I don't think that has ever happened during a performance show.
Danny - Come Rain or Come Shine (1-866-436-5704 or 1-866-436-5709 or text "Vote" to 5704)
The first words out of Danny's mouth are "I'm going to sing Come Rain or Come Shine. I'm not really going to change it up that much." Have you ever really changed up anything? No, not really. I did hear you turned "September" into a sermon on iTunes. Jamie says Danny has fresh breath. He did change it a little. He slowed it down and made it boring. He has "Up With People" hands. Now it's all of the sudden VERY bluesy and it was weird. It didn't seem well planned. It's like he thought "Well, it's getting close to the end so this is where I'm going to start singing really loud." All you Danny fans out there new to this blog, take this recap with a grain of salt because I don't like him. Randy thinks he can have an album of these songs. Kara uses the word of the season: swagger. She also calls it creative. Paula calls it stellar. Simon agrees with Kara and calls it outstanding. Damn, Danny looks smug. YUCK.
Adam - Feeling Good (1-888-436-5705 or 1-888-436-5710 or text "Vote" to 5705)
I love this song. Jamie thinks he's going to be great. WOW! What an outfit! How is it possible that someone can hit all those different notes in the same song?!?! Amazing! Best of the night. That last note was out of this world. There was a few times that I thought he was going to ruin it by going into his rock wail but he pulled it in at the last second and took it a different direction. Randy says his is in the zone. Kara calls him shocking in a good way. Paula says he makes her feel better than good. Simon thinks he wants to win. Simon calls it the best entrance this season and says that Ryan can no longer use the stairs. I agree.
Here's my order from first to worst:
1. Adam
2. Allison
3. Kris
4. Danny
5. Matt
That begin said. I'm still worried about Allison. I don't understand why people aren't voting for her. I am not, however, worried about Adam. He is way safe!!!
What say you?
I think it's required that someone sings "MacArthur Park" during 70's (Disco) week but I'm hoping that's not true. As much as I love that song (and I really do), it's Donna's so leave it alone. It doesn't make any sense in the longer version much less if you shorten it. What was Carrie Underwood thinking?
Considering all but one of the kids sang a ballad, it's a given that a balladeer is going home. I'm thinking it's going to be Matt. DialIdol puts Matt, Kris and Allison in the bottom three. If it's Allison, the judges better use that damn save thing!
I hope everyone (in the US) submitted their taxes. My hubby and I had to pay in!! It really sucked. I'm fixing that tomorrow. I will not pay in next year.
One with the show and more Quentin. He looks goofy but I like him! Kill Bill Vol. One was great (I'm not so sure about Vol. 2). I was very glad that the baby ended up being alive. Quentin thinks he knows who is going to leave. I wonder if he has inside info?
Ford Commercial so soon? Yuck! Mainly computer effects.
The group sing is to Maniac from Flash Dance. Who's idea was that? Turns out it was a good idea...if you love an extra cheesy group sing!! It was great! I did feel bad for Kris starting out singing "Just a Steel Town girl on a Saturday Night." LOL!!!! Allison sneaking up on Simon was pretty good too. I forgot all about Danny until he started singing. Was it my favorite group sing" No but it was better than most of them from the past weeks.
Ryan chats with Adam about Quentin and Allison about the premiere of "17 Again". I think they made the kids wear what they wore to perform in to the premiere. The star, Zak, is in the house wearing a very stupid looking hat.
Ryan starts with Allison and she is safe. They aren't pulling a George Huff this year. Interesting. Adam is next and is safe!!!!!!!!!! Woooooo Hooooooo!
Anoop is next and after Ryan tortures him, he is in the bottom three...again. Could this be his week to go home?
Jennifer Hudson is next. It's still so sad about her family. They didn't mention that by the way. I just can't help but thinking about it whenever I see her. I'm really not liking her performance. She is using her hands way too much for one. Also, if your song relies on background singer, they should really be on the stage too. I think this was prerecorded. She's about a foot taller than Ryan. Well, maybe not a whole foot but at least half a foot.
Back to business. Next is Kris and Lil together. After the recaps, it's Lil in the bottom and Kris is safe. I really don't like Lil's new hair. I think it should have a name. How about Little Lil?
Mat and Danny are next and it's Matt in the bottom three. Like anyone in America thought that Danny was in the bottom.
So, it's Anoop, Lil, and Matt in the bottom three. I still think it's going to be Matt packing his bags but it should be Lil. Kara thinks its the right group and so does Paula. The first person safe is Anoop!!!
It's between Matt and Lil but we have to see Miley first and I'm watching real time. Maybe I'll like Miley. It could happen...in a parallel universe. That is horrible! She can't sing. Why the hell are people buy her CDs? There was one phrase that was total gibberish. It was pitchy, twangy and nasally all at once. I guess I'm too old to get it and that is completely fine with me!
Simon says that he might consider using the save for one of them (Lil or Matt) and we'd be surprised by which one it was. I'm guessing it would be Matt since Simon starting throwing Lil under the bus when Allison was getting her comments.
Lil and Matt...which one will be going home...Matt. I called it!
Matt has to sing that crappy song again. During which, Paula and Kara dance and sing a long while Randy and Simon pretend to discuss using the save. Will they save him?
Simon just told Matt that he doesn't have a chance of winning but they save him anyway!
Two people are going home next week and next week is DISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a stupid theme tonight..."Songs from the Cinema". Which can be ANY song played in ANY movie at ANY time. I'm hoping that someone will do something from Spinal Tap! Or maybe Grease!
I sure hope that Idol is on time tonight because tonight is the start of the new season of Deadliest Catch and I'm excited! It's been a long time since I've seen anything new on those lovable scamps on the Northwestern, Sig and Edgar Hansen.
It's time for the show!!!!
Quentin Tarantino is the guest this week. I wonder what kind of advice he is going to give? How to be nerdy but way cool at the same time? He gets to start the show!
They are not using the Great and Powerful entrance this week. Thank goodness. Simon REALLY needs a new stylist. How the hell is he letting do his hair? Something new! Only two of the judges will be judging the kids tonight. I guess that one way of fixing the time management problem. It's the the way I would go.
I LOVE Quentin Tarantino!!! The intro they did for him was excellent. Guess what? He's shooting a new movie. He is an odd looking fellow and larger than Ryan...who isn't.
Allison - 1-866-436-5701 (text "Vote" to 5701)
Anoop - 1-866-436-5702 (text "Vote" to 5702)
Adam - 1-866-436-5703 (text "Vote" to 5703)
Matt - 1-866-436-5704 (text "Vote" to 5704)
Danny - 1-866-436-5705 (text "Vote" to 5705)
Kris - 1-866-436-5706 (text "Vote" to 5706)
Lil - 1-866-436-5707 (text "Vote" to 5707)
Allison - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing
I'm afraid for her going first. I thought she did really well. It's a hard song to do and I think she pulled it off while staying true to herself. (I'm channelling my inner Paula tonight). I still afraid that she is going to suffer from going first. Her fan base doesn't seem that big...I have no clue why that is. Paula thinks that Allison has the same special sauce that Adam does. Simon thinks it was BBQ sauce. He calls her the girls only hope in the competition and thinks she could be in all the way to the end. Well! That was quite some pimping from Simon!!!
Katie Couric in the house!
Anoop - Everything I Do
Great. He going to sing me to sleep again. Quentin showing Anoop how to sing is pretty funny!!! Anoop has his Frat Boy clothes on again. I'm surprised! I wasn't bored. He has a very pleasant voice. Should he win the whole thing? No. Should he go home tomorrow? No. I'm counting on Lil to really stink it up again. Randy thinks he found his zone and did a really good job. Kara thinks it was one of his best and she felt connected to him.
Adam - Born to Be Wild
AWESOME!!!!! Quentin looks forward to seeing Adam every week. OMG!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!! This was WAY Adam! He could not have picked a better song. He had me clapping along. I think everyone on the West Coast is going to be very happy! Paula is standing up and yelling for him! She tells him something about dancing and bravery. Simon calls it vocally terrific and think that people will love it or hate it. Simon liked it. The audience is going WILD!!!
I'm going to have to watch that again. Even better the second time around. The band looked like they were all having a great time.
Anyway! On with the show.
Matt - Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman
Matt is getting some extra special chair time with Ryan. I think that this song is overrated. Boy! He is making some ugly faces tonight. In the interest of full disclosure, I flare my nostrils when I sing. Well, I use to until some of my friends made fun of me. Back to Matt. It was boring. He hit some bad notes but also some good ones. Randy calls it interesting but the bridge was rough. Kara thinks he struggled but what she really means that he is stepping out of his R&B box that the judges want him to stay in. Poor Matt. You and Lil can't seem to win.
The plot for the new movie "17 again" is old and played out but part of me still wants to see it. Yes, I'm part lame.
Danny - Endless Love
Danny is also getting chair time. His votes must have been down last week. Danny got a guitar this week. Oh boy! I'm I the only one that thinks this song is very cheesy? I just noticed he isn't wearing glasses. He really looks like Robert Downey, Jr. now. Now I can't get the picture of Robert in Tropic Thunder out of my head. (Sorry, Jessica! My husband made me watch it.) Paula mentioned "magic" and Simon rolled his eyes and grabbed his head. LOL! Simon is disappointed in the traditional version of the song. He then compares him to David Cook and not in a good way.
When we come back from break, we are treated to Ryan doing an excellent impression of Randy. "Dude, Dude, Dude. Dawg, Dawg, Dawg. We got a hawt one tonight!" Ryan, you're funny.
Kris - Falling Slowly
What the hell is this song? I really don't have much to say about this. I didn't like it. I felt he was trying too hard to convey emotion and it just didn't quite make it for me. I'm sure I will be in the minority on this one. I also really dislike his falsetto. He was hard to understand as well which didn't help me enjoy the song. Randy did like it either and he likes the song. Kara calls it one of his best moments. I'm going with my Dawg, Randy.
OMG! Ryan just sent us to commercial by telling us that Lil is singing "The Rose"! Is she trying to loose this thing! She gets the pimp spot and picks that overdone song! Hell, I used that to audition for chorus in 8th grade and that was back in like 1983 or something!
I like Square Butts and I cannot lie! That new BK commercial is ten kinds of awesome!
Lil - The Rose
She's got more hair tonight. I like it better. I really didn't like her version of this song. It may be overdone but it's overdone for a reason. It's a great song. I though she was out of tune for a lot of it. She didn't shout so much which was a good thing but it just didn't do it for me. If she went earlier in the show, I would say she was going home. But since she got the pimp spot, I'm not so sure. Paula calls it a beautiful song. Simon thinks that she is getting it completely wrong but calls it middle of the road and throws her under the bus. Lil started to say something back but my Tivo is done with Fox and is on to Deadliest Catch!!
I think Lil was the worst tonight but she may not go home. We might be saying goodbye to Matt just because Lil went last. We will have to wait and see.
Here's how I rank them tonight from first to worst:
Adam
Allison
Anoop
Danny
Kris
Matt
Lil
What say you?
I'm not sure if drinking is going to make a difference in what I say but it might. I think I may have to start drinking a little faster for it to take affect. I've been home for about an hour and I only have half a drink down.
I'm in the process of watching Idol from last night again and I put the remote down so that I don't fast forward. It was hard not to pick it back up and skip Danny. I don't have time to do a full recap but I wanted to say a few more things about last night. In the spirit of the new Idol catch-phrase, I have two words for you Idol producers: Time Management! Learn it, Know it, Use it! I can't believe all the filler and crap that they could have chucked in order to have time for Adam's performance during the hour. As I said last night, I was VERY lucky that Tivo thinks I might like "Fringe". A LOT of people in America were not so lucky. According to DialIdol, it did not hurt him a bit.
Onto the performances!
I listened to Danny's entire performance and I still didn't like it. I have no clue why the judges did. It was a crappy arrangement and shouldn't have even been a choice.
Kris was a little better on second viewing but only a little. I still have problems watching him and his sideways-jaw singing style. I think he's in trouble.
Lil was still bad and she should go but I don't think it's going to be tonight. There are others that deserve to leave first. Not necessarily before her, just first.
I forgot Anoop last night in my mini-recap and that might have been a little foreshadowing on my part. I think he's going to be in trouble even though he did well. It just wasn't memorable.
Scott just plain sucked. I do think he's funny and with the VFTW vote, he just might stand a chance but I don't think so. I think he's a goner. I just went to the VFTW site to copy the URL and saw that they changed their banner to braille!! I nearly spit-out my vodka!
Allison was even better the second time around!!! She needs to be in the finals!! Love her! Simon is an ass! People like her! All the blogs I read LOVE her!
I would really like to know how many songs Matt had to pick from because, if this was the best option, Idol needs to start buying more song rights. He did not deserve the praise the judges heaped on him but I think he is going to be safe anyway.
I got goose bumps again watching Adam! AWESOME!!! He needs to win!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be buying this tomorrow! Mary Pat thinks that Simon gave Kat a standing "O" in Season 5 for "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" but no one else thought he had ever done that before.
Now it's time to refresh my drink before we find out who's going home. I'm leaning towards Scott but it could be Anoop's time. We shall see.
Idol learned nothing from last night and starts the show with the usual filler. Yuck! Like we need or want to see a badly PhotoShopped picture of Paula and Simon. I also don't care that Simon was born when...OMG!!!! It's Frankie Avalon!!! He's singing Venus which was number one on the charts when Simon was born. That was AWESOME filler! Simon turns 50 this year.
The group sing is taking a chance tonight by having Scott move around the stage. I also think it's NOT lip-synced!! I actually enjoyed that a lot! That was pretty damn good! Maybe it's the vodka? Naw! It was hawt!!
It's behind the scenes at this week Ford video. Damn! I liked that too! I should drink for every show. Downside, now I have to download Circus by Britney.
The mayor of Kalamazoo, MI is in the house.
Ryan begins the killings! He asks Adam, Kris and Anoop to stand. Ryan asks the other judges what they thought of Adam. After all of that, he is SAFE! Kris and Anoop are both given their recaps and it's Anoop in the bottom three. Kris is safe.
We're back! It's Flo Rida. I think this song is about oral sex. It's got a catchy beat and part of an 80's song. What more do you need? Wow! It's like the finale!. Another entertaining guest trying to sell more records. Hell, I think I'll be getting this one tomorrow too. Don't tell my hubby!
Poor Anoop is going to get some company. Ryan asks Danny to stand and then is pronounced safe. DUH! Matt is next and is safe. He needs to get that mole in the middle of his forehead removed. It's very distracting. I kinda want to pop it. Scott is next and he must be in the bottom three. And he is. Allison is next along with Lil who is wearing a TERRIBLE shirt. After the double recaps, Allison is safe and Lil is in the bottom three. I don't see the judges using the safe for any of them regardless of what Simon says. I think the shine has worn off of Lil, Anoop is sporadic at best and Scott is in way over his head at this point.
That Sour Patch Kids commercial made me laugh!!!
Oh! I also love those Old Navy Mannequin commercials. Shelf-butt! Or "Stop looking at my wife!" "I can't. Your fingers don't close."
I just started on drink number three. YUMMY! Since I think I'm allergic to beer, I'm drinking vodka, club soda and cranberry. If anyone has a name for that, I'd love to know. I'm just thinking it's YUMMY!
Kelly Pickler is singing her new single. I've seen the video and it's kinda cute. She's not sounding that hot tonight but she is singing live so props to her! I didn't like her during Season 5 because I thought wore out her welcome but she has grown on me ever since. I know all the words to "Red High Heels". Then again, I know the words to TONS of songs so maybe that it's a good barometer. Kelly is funny!!
Now it's time to send someone back to the couches and it's Lil that's safe. PLEASE send Scott home!!!
Another commercial break!! GRRRR!!!
I have some extra time now so I decided to check my blog stats. I'm way down over last week. I'm blaming it on the upcoming holiday and don't bother to tell me anything different.
I'll be watching "Glee". An over the top show about high school is just what my summer will need!
Only 30,000 votes separate the two and it's Scott that draws the short straw. Scott's brother, dubbed "Chet" by VFTW, is in the audience and looking sad. Don't be sad, Chet!! You'll be going on tour with your brother I'm sure and will get plenty of tail. OH!! Scott slaughtered those high notes again. Couldn't Ricky and the band fix those for you? Guess not.
Will the judges save him? (Scott's hair is HUGE tonight.) ENOUGH ALREADY! Put him out of his misery!!!! The judges do not save him. Like anyone had a doubt about that one. I loved him in tonight group sing. Since they had him moving around, there was an added element of danger! Oh well!! Bye Scott!!! We'll never forget you...Paula won't let us.
I need another drink.
It's the night that send one more hopeful packing but who is it going to be?
Matt - R&B guy that wants to be a rocker...I think
Lil - cute kids but picks the wrong songs
Scott - Piano Man with limited vocal ability
Danny - gravelly voice with multi-colored specs
Anoop - Bad guy wanna be but should stick to ballads
Adam - the glam rocker with a hairstyle for every occasion and a voice that can hit any note
Kris - guitar boy turned piano man
Allison - little rocker girl that has bad taste in clothes
or
Megan - that one that most of America hates but that Vote For The Wost has been keeping in
I hope to everything that is pure and good in this world that it will be Megan.
What about you?
On with the show!!!
Alexis Grace is in the audience wondering what the hell happened.
Ryan tells us that 36 million votes came in.
I got a little bit of a late start so I'll be skipping the recap and the useless talking to the judges.
Straight to the Ford "commercial". It's some kind of weird mash-up thing.
All the kids are holding mics. Are they going to actually sing?? OMG!! For a second there, I thought they were but nope. Same old lip-syncing. Adam's looking pretty good tonight! I still don't like Lil's new hair. Danny's pretty good at lip-syncing.
Results time!
Ryan chats with the kids some more and we get to see the "typical Idol week". Fast Forward.
Danny just made fun of Matt very badly. Then Anoop does Kris complete with the sideways jaw. Allison's impression of Danny is AWESOME!!!
Megan is asked to stand along with Matt and Kris. This seems to be group one.
Adam is asked to stand along with Lil and Allison. This is the center group. Does that mean that Allison is safe?!?!?
Scott, Danny, and Anoop make up the third group.
Unless Ryan moves people around, I'm guessing that Megan's group is in the bottom. But, I think Ryan will move people after the break.
David Cook's record performance is next. I hear he has taken a few shows off for personal reasons. I hope his brother is okay. He still sounds great!!! Go Cookie!!!!
We're back! Ryan is starting with Kris. After the recap, he is safe and headed back to the couches. Matt is next and in the bottom three...again...WAIT! Ryan pulls a fast one and send Matt to the couches. Megan is up next and takes the first silver seat of doom. Megan says "I love you, Simon, but I don't care." She does a horrible bird dance over to her stool.
Ryan move to Adam's group. Lil is safe. Allison's turn. Oh Boy! She is in the bottom three. Damn! Adam, of course, is SAFE!!!!!!
Ryan starts with Danny who is safe. It's down to Anoop and Scott. After Ryan's yakking, it's Anoop in the bottom three. HEY! Jason Castro is sitting next to Alexis! Ryan walks Scott over toward the couches and points to the couch and tells him to have a seat before Scott gets there. Ryan, you're too funny!
Lady Gaga is up next. I like this song but only because I like playing poker. WTF is this?? She has a zipper on her eye. I will have to say that it was very different and entertaining. That was insane. Maybe I'm just getting too old. I think I'm going to have to watch that again later.
Simon says only one of the bottom three is worth saving. I hoping that is Allison.
I've caught up to real time now. So now I have to watch commercials. I love the commercial for Observe and Report when his mom falls off the chair and rolls on the floor. That movie is now being advertised in my Guitar Hero World Tour game.
We're back. Ryan sends Allison back to the couches!! Whew!!!! Thanks goodness!
Megan is gone!!!!!!!
Simon tells her before she sings that they are not saving her.
We get to hear her again...and see her dancing.
Goodbye Megan, you will not be missed.
The show start with Ryan jabbering on while walking past the kids. It looks like everyone dressed up except for Kris. I'm really getting tired of the "Great of Powerful Oz" intro the judges and Ryan get. I'm also tired of Ryan chatting with the judges.
WHAT is Allison wearing?!?!?
The theme is any popular download from iTunes. That leaves the door open for anything.
I'll add the names and numbers to the list below as I get them.
Anoop Desai - 1-866-436-5701 (text "Vote" 5701)
Megan Joy Corkrey - 1-866-436-5702 (text "Vote" 5702)
Danny Gokey - 1-866-436-5703 (text "Vote" 5703)
Allison Iraheta - 1-866-436-5704 (text "Vote" 5704)
Scott MacIntyre - 1-866-436-5705 (text "Vote" 5705)
Matt Giraud - 1-866-436-5706 (text "Vote" 5706)
Lil Rounds - 1-866-436-5707 (text "Vote" 5707)
Adam Lambert (Go Adam!!) 1-866-436-5708 (text "Vote" 5708)
Kris Allen - 1-866-436-5709 (text "Vote" 5709)
Anoop - Caught Up
I don't know this song and Anoop did nothing to make me want to know it. I couldn't understand anything he was singing during the first part. I think he was trying to portray anger or passion but it just looked like he smelled something bad. I think being first up and having a not so good performance is going to having him in the bottom three tomorrow. Randy thought it was good vocally but not a good song choice. Kara thinks he played it safe. Damn, I agree with her. Paula likes his playful side. Simon thought it was a complete mess. Simon says he came over as a wanna be. I concur. Anoop copped an attitude at the end with a push from Ryan. I think they want him out.
Megan - Turn Your Lights Down Low
Megan is doing a song she loves. I'm not sure if I love it. I really don't know what to think of it. There are glimmers of a singer in there but those are few and far between. I know that if she was doing karaoke in the same place I was, after a few drinks, I'd be making fun of her...BIG TIME. Kara really likes her but thinks she is in trouble and actually calls her irritating. Paula thinks she needs to dig deep, sit on a stool and not move. Simon says the song was boring and doesn't think anyone is going to like it. Randy calls it watching paint dry.
Danny - What Hurts The Most
For those of you who don't know, Danny had to go back home the week because his grandpa died. He's getting extra chair time with Ryan. I though he was pretty good. Again, this is a song I don't know so I don't have anything to compare it to but I thought the phrasing at the beginning was weird. He almost seemed to run out of breath during it. He also hit a couple of bum notes. This is about the only thing me and Mary Pat don't agree on. She's a big Danny fan. I'll see what she thought of it later. Paula says he leaves her wanting more. Simon calls it his best performance to date and claps for him. Randy says the show starts here. Kara says he moved everyone and gave her goose bumps. I just don't see it.
Allison - Don't Speak
Finally!!! A song I know!! She's playing the guitar. WOW. That was really strange and really short. It started out really good during the slow, quiet part but once it got loud, I think she lost it. I really hate to say that. I want her to do well but I think she might be headed for the bottom three again. Yikes! Randy thinks she was a little ahead but "Dude! What are you wearing?!?!" Kara thinks she is Rock and doesn't need to dress up. Paula likes her axe and really likes her. Simon says we can't ignore the outfit and she shouted the song. She made me laugh when she patted her hair!
Scott - Just The Way You Are
Hey! I know this one too! I'm not sure I'm happy about him singing this song. It's an awesome song and I don't think he can pull it off. What are the stylist doing to him? The hair is very A-ha Well, at least it's not "Greatest American Hero" again. I think he trying too hard. If he relaxed a little, I don't think his voice would sound as tight. I don't think that will keep him out of the bottom three. Kara think he was very smart tonight and she loved the new look. Paula is most proud of him and he took a risk. Simon calls it his best performance. Randy calls it one of the best of the night. I guess I'm just not hearing what the judges are hearing.
Matt - You found me
We're on a roll! I know this one too. Matt get some special chair time and talks about being in the bottom three. He's playing the Casio in the middle of one of the mosh pits. He starts off pretty bad. And doesn't really pull it out of the crapper. Paula says it was a sound-a-like and not great. Simon didn't get it and said it felt uptight. Randy says he should have picked a different song. Kara thinks he is talented and doesn't deserve to go home. He kinda looks stoned tonight.
Lil - I Surrender
I hate Celine Dion. I didn't really care for Lil singing this song. She wasn't shouting at us in the beginning but it didn't take her long to start. I don't think this was her "moment". I not really digging the outfit or the hair either. Randy calls her out on song choice but thinks she sang it really well. Kara agrees with Randy. Paula wants to see joy not adult contemporary. Simon calls it safe and a wedding performance. Lil's kids are REALLY cute!!!
Adam - Play That Funky Music
OMG!!! This should be good! I think he was pretty good and hit some amazing notes as always. It was, as always, original and no where NEAR Karaoke like the majority of the contestants. Some parts I really, really loved but most of it was just good. I have to say that it wasn't my favorite from him but I'll still buy it tomorrow. Paula jabbers on about genius. Simon calls it brave and says good for him. Randy thought it was going to be corny but it wasn't. Adam gives a shout out to the band. Kara says each week she can't wait to see what he does. I'm sure he'll be safe tomorrow.
Mandisa in the house!
Kris - Ain't No Sunshine
Kris get the pimp spot this week and is the only one that looks like he was just picked off the street to come in and sing. Kris, you get money for clothes every week, SPEND IT. You need to do your part to boost the economy. If I didn't know the song, I would have had a hard time understanding what he was singing. I closed my eyes and listened, because he can make some strange faces when he sings, but that didn't really help. I hope the judges don't pile on the praise. Randy says he's in the zone and calls it one of the best performances. Kara calls it artistry. Paula calls it his best performance to date. Simon calls it cool and cleaver.
I would have to say I was not blown away tonight. On a night when they could have picked ANYTHING, some of them failed to impress. I would say that the best of the night was Adam and (don't kill me) Danny. The worst of the night BY FAR was Megan. My bottom three for tonight would have to be Megan, Anoop, and Lil. Matt might make a return as well but I'm going out on a limb and picking Lil to round out the bottom (pun not intended).
What do you think?
