This week's theme is "Night". I had a lot of night pics ready to go but I thought I had been over using pics of Vegas and Apple Blossom so I wanted to take some new ones. As Carmi said, night pics are hard. These were all taken downtown while I was walking back from Poker on Thursday night. People were looking at me strange while I used trashcans and a parking meter to steady the shots. It didn't completely work but a few of them turned out pretty good.
This one is of the Obama Office in town. Boring.
But this is the first one I took. I love what happened to the lights!
This was the first one I took on the walking mall. This is when I started using the trashcans. I like the glowy effect on the street lights.
This is in the other direction. I like the tiny tree with it's tiny leaves set against the blackness of the night sky.
These are the last two that I took almost directly across from the entrance to our building. The town had been working on getting the lights in the trees working all week and these show them well.
You got any favorite night shots?
I'm taking a cue from President Bush (aka Will Ferrell) and creating a "Bummer Free Zone" on this blog for this post (maybe longer). In keeping with the Bummer Free Theme, I'm posting some images that go to Carmi's theme of "Happy" this week. Instead of just posting pictures of smiling faces, I decided to post photos of things that make me happy.
First up is living downtown. I love living downtown. You see the strangest things sometimes.
You REALLY see strange things over Apple Blossom.
This picture of my husband was taken one Saturday morning when there was a wine festival downtown and a band was playing across from our apartment. My husband makes me happy and this is another reason why living downtown makes me happy.
Vegas makes me happy.
Nature makes me happy.
Being crafty makes me happy.
I guess that's enough for now.
Your turn...what makes you happy?
This weekend has been spent on the coach, sick. Which sucked in a big way. I didn't get to do anything. I couldn't even get my Hemp necklace done but I will be posting pics as soon as I get it done. Until that time, I have some more photos for this weeks theme to post.
On Thursday, my hubby and I went to Rockville to see the dentist. Why so far away you ask? Well, that's an easy one. My dad has been y dentist for year and this year he retired. Yeah for dad, boo for my teeth. My hubby had been seeing his dentist for years as well. His dentist is his brother. So, in the interest of saving money, I am switching to my brother in law, Bob.
On our way there, I snapped a few pics for the blur theme this week. Here are a couple I like.
He doesn't look wake yet, does he?

I like this one of me despite the zit on my head. It makes me look thoughtful.
The dentist was great! I really just had a bunch of x-rays and a cleaning but it was still great. No cavities! I think this new guy is going to work out just fine!
Can you believe it! I actually have another photo for Carmi's Thematic Photo Blog post. This week's theme is blur. The first photo is one that I took of my husband the Thursday of Apple Blossom. This is the night when all the vendors set up on the downtown mall. We decided to get a better view than out our window and went to the square and sat at the fountain to watch it all. We each had a drink (or three) and enjoyed the activity.
This next photo is one that my husband took of me during our trip to Vegas. I was singing Karaoke and he was pretending to be a photographer! You can make out the mic and the pink in my new hairdo. We were drinking this night as well. I think I'm sensing an additional theme here.
Carmi over at Written Inc. posts a Thematic Photographic Challenge each week and normally, I have nothing. That is until now! This week's theme is grounded and here is my photo.
I took this last week while in Vegas. I have a great new camera and was snapping pics of everything. I took this photo of my Uncle Scott, my mom and me...well, our shadows really...on the ground while waiting for the monorail. Mom thought it was silly but I thought it was pretty cool. Turns out, taking this pic was the only lucky thing that happened to me in Vegas!!
