Oh Snap!!!

Bush got told today! Our new President unloaded both barrels into him. It was a sight to behold...at least for me!

Today was a wonderful day. I don't know if anything will change but I feel that change is finally possible. I feel that ANYTHING is possible. I hope this feeling lasts for a long time.

I guess size does matter

The town is building a new parking garage downtown and I think it's going to be the largest building in town judging by the crane that they're using. I don't know how big this thing is but it's too big for this town. I tried to take some pictures to put it into perspective but there's nothing big enough or close enough for a comparison.

In other news, here's the best photo I got of our future president when I went to the rally in Leesburg.

*sigh*

Thematic Photo

This week's theme is "Night". I had a lot of night pics ready to go but I thought I had been over using pics of Vegas and Apple Blossom so I wanted to take some new ones. As Carmi said, night pics are hard. These were all taken downtown while I was walking back from Poker on Thursday night. People were looking at me strange while I used trashcans and a parking meter to steady the shots. It didn't completely work but a few of them turned out pretty good.

This one is of the Obama Office in town. Boring.

But this is the first one I took. I love what happened to the lights!

This was the first one I took on the walking mall. This is when I started using the trashcans. I like the glowy effect on the street lights.

This is in the other direction. I like the tiny tree with it's tiny leaves set against the blackness of the night sky.

These are the last two that I took almost directly across from the entrance to our building. The town had been working on getting the lights in the trees working all week and these show them well.

You got any favorite night shots?

Bummer Free Zone is OVER

It's time for some bitching! We live in a lovely apartment on the downtown mall. Life is great living there. There are lots of shops and places to eat and things to do. I watched parts of "A Bug's Life" out my window this year, listened to a Jazz band in my PJs, avoided many DUIs, and have loved it all. Now that the weather is turning colder, all that is changing.

I'M FREEZING! Our lovely old apartment was 55 degrees when I got home yesterday. I could stand by the closed window and have my hair blown back by the amount of wind coming through the cracks. The charming radiators were ice cold. I had to call the emergency number to get some heat and even with heat, it barely made it to 62 degrees. I did find out something interesting.

Before I tell you that,
I should start be letting you know that we had NO heat last winter except what could be made by space heaters and the oven. At the beginning of December, the furnace died in our building. We were first told that it would be fixed in two weeks. Those two-weeks came and went. In the end, the heat was fixed in late February but only somewhat. We still had to run the space heater. By then, we only had one space heater left because they came and took the one they gave us in December to use. anyway, it warmed up rather quickly so it wasn't too much of a pain. Now that it's getting cold again, I'm starting to get pissed again.

Now, about that interesting thing I found out. The
thermostat for the old furnace was on the second floor in the hallway. Not the greatest place considering the interior of the building is about 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the place. When they installed the new furnace, they moved the thermostat and you'll never guess to where. Inside one of the apartment on the second floor in their KITCHEN! Turns out that the lady that lives in that apartment was baking something yesterday and her kitchen was already 72 degrees so the heat didn't come on! Why am I surprised?

Our goal is to move to a bigger place on a second floor somewhere else downtown where WE control the heat. Living downtown is great but I'm going to turn into a
popsicle if we don't move soon!

On a "Bummer Free" note, I did find out that the handyman is an Obama guy!

Get A Load of This!

This pile o'crap I got emailed to me a few minutes ago.

This will make you re-think : A Trivia question in Sunday School :
How long is the beast allowed to have authority in Revelations ?

Guess the Answer?

Revelations Chapter 13 tells us it is 42 months, and you know what that
is.
Almost a four-year term to a Presidency.

All I can say is Lord Have Mercy on us.!!!!!!

According to The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is: The anti-Christ
will be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the
nations
with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the
prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope
and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything ..

Is it OBAMA??

I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to post this as many times as you can!
Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media
outlet...do it!
I refuse to take a chance on this unknown candidate who came out of
nowhere.

From: Dr. John Tisdale
(From another email)

Dear Friends,

As I was listening to a news program last night, I watched in horror as
Barack Obama made the statement with pride. . ."we are no longer a
Christian nation; we are now a nation of Christians, Jews, Muslims,
Buddhists, . . . As with so many other statements I've heard him (and
his wife) make, I never thought I'd see the day that I'd hear something
like that from a presidential candidate in this nation. To think our
forefathers fought and died for the right for our nation to be a
Christian
nation--and to have this man say with pride that we are no longer that.
How far this nation has come from what our founding fathers intended it to be.
I hope that each of you will do what I'm doing now--send your concerns,
written simply and sincerely, to the Christians on your email list.
With God's help, and He is still in control of this nation and all else,
we can show this man and the world in November that we are, indeed,
still a Christian nation!
Please pray for our nation!

As if the regular old scare tactics weren't enough, someone had to send this pile out.

How can normal, SANE people believe this? I will have to say that this did come from a person that has never been the brightest bulb on the Christmas Tree.

Does it actually say this anywhere in the Bible? Archshrk, can you help me out with this part? (Go over and visit archshrk, he's got a GREAT gymnastics video a couple of posts down from the top.)

(I know I just broke my self-imposed "No Politics" rule but I couldn't help it!)
