David Cook and Blake Lewis, my two new faves

Thanks to Nikki from over at MJ's, I have this pretty funny video clip from MadTV. Some if it is just okay but Blake Lewis really shocked me!

WOW!

Susie Q

Just a quick post before I go to bed.

I so need a new camera. I took 5 pics and this one is the only one that came out.

Your Mama Don't...OH LOOK! A Puppy!

I was all ready to come home tonight, eat supper, and watch Your Mama Don't Dance but look!

I helped Angie buy a puppy! Her name is Susie-Q and she is cute as a button. Angie and Joe already have one dog, Daisy. Daisy is from the pound and is very cute. She also has a heart defect that is only going to get worse. Angie has been looking for a new dog for a while. She wanted to get one to keep Daisy company and to ease the pain when Daisy...well, you know. We checked the local pounds but didn't find anything. Turns out, small dogs go fast! We also went to the puppy store a few times before and didn't really see anything. There was a puppy Angie liked a few weeks ago but I talked her out of it. It wasn't right for her. This new puppy is the bomb! She's a beagle and will only get about 13 inches tall. In the store, Daisy didn't seem to like her that much but when we got them home, Daisy was awesome and couldn't get enough of the puppy. They are going to be fast friends!

Anyway, I JUST got home a few minutes ago and turned on the TV. So, without further ado, it's .... Your Mama Don't Dance!!

Tonight we get to see if Jonathan and Rodilyn made it or if Jesse and Rebecca are moving on. This is also the first night that the girls and the guys dance on the same show. I wonder if they will have a group number too. I also wonder if I'm going to cry...again. Lifetime sure knows how to make me cry!

The show starts off recapping what happened last week with the guys and their moms. Ian is looking as hawt as ever! He tells us that the finale will be on April 18th. He introduces the five pairs that will definitely be dancing tonight and when he get to Erick and Carol, she gives us the horns!!
\m/ I had to laugh! Her hair is all over to one side for her head like Delta Burke on Designing Women and she gives us the horns. Rock on Carol!

Here's the moment of truth! Will it be Jonathan and Rodilyn or Jesse and Rebecca. Rodilyn looks REALLY nervous! I hope they make it. OH NO!!!!!! Jonathan and Rodilyn are going home! That sucks! It's all Ben Vereen's fault. He gave the worst couple a 90 last week when they should have been the lowest score of the night! It's doesn't matter what Ben does from here on out because he's on my shit list forever!!!! What a turd! At least Rodilyn got a kiss from sexy Ian!!

The pros are dancing ball room and I'm a little disappointed. The number seems really short and the camera keeps on cutting away to the stupid audience! I don't want to see them clapping! I want to see dancing! I paused the show right when it ended and the couple in the back on my right didn't quite make that final pose.

Brooke and Eric are first up and they are doing the quick step. Yikes! The song is "Boogie, Woogie, Bugle Boy" and they did really good! Much improved over last week. The finish was funny which always scores big with the audience! They some good stunts and Erik seemed to loosen up this time. Since Dancing With the Stars had half of the couple dancing quick step this week, it's still fresh in my mind. I don't think this would get good marks on that show but it should get pretty good marks here. Chris thought they were a lot of fun to watch and gives them a 90! CA talks about ballroom dancing for awhile and gives them an 83. Ben blabs on for awhile then gives them a 92.

Nicole and Michael are the next pair up and they are dancing the samba to a song that I didn't catch. Well, on a day when Erik seemed to improve, Michael seems to have taken a step backwards. It was real awkward and not fun to watch. I hate to say it but it was a little cringe-worthy. I do not have fun when the dancers don't do well. It's not like on Idol where there are some people I don't like. I like EVERYONE on this show...except Ben. Let's see what the judges have to say. Maybe I'm wrong. Chris gives them an 87. CA saw a little of what I saw and gives them an 82. Ben is babbling again and gives them a 90.

Dante and Dolores are doing the waltz to Summertime. Dante admits that "a lot of people don't think we should be here." I wouldn't go that far but they should have been in the bottom two last week. Okay, okay! I'll stop beating that dead horse! You know how I just said that Nicole and Michael were cringe-worthy? They weren't...this was! I'm not even sure where to start. I guess we should start with the music. What was that version?!? I don't think I've ever heard a fast version of Summertime and I don't think I ever want to hear it again. It didn't go with any waltz that I know about. I didn't see much waltz but I did see a little quick step and A LOT of ballet from Dante. I was expecting him to pirouette every other step. And can we talk about the lift? I think they could, no, SHOULD have figured out another lift that wouldn't have Dante putting his hand on the inside of his step-mom's thigh. That was yucky! Chris gives them an 83. CA gives them a 78 and points out a few bad things. What's his face says that she looked unsure this time (Hey! Turd face! She was unsure last time!) and gives them and 83.

So for the judging *cough*Ben*cough* seems better. The best couple (damn!) pair has the highest score and the worst pair has the lowest score. So far, so good!

Jesse and Rebecca are next and are dancing the Swing to Your True Love. That was cute and Jesse was great but Rebecca didn't seem to do much. I can see why because I don't think I would have been able to do much! The Swing is pretty fast and bouncy and I know I'm not a bouncy person and it doesn't seem like Rebecca is either. I'm not sure how the judges are going to score this. It didn't have the YUCK factor that Dante and Dolores had but they did have more dancing. Rebecca did look cute in her outfit! Chris calls it really good and gives them an 84. CA thought they had great spirit and gives them a 79. The guy on the end who should be medicated gives them a 85.

Noelle and Doug are doing the Rumba. They were excellent! I clapped! Doug was in command and lead the entire time. Noelle was beautiful. The multiple spins were awesome and seemed to go on forever. So far, best of the night! What else can I say! Chris calls it beautiful and gives them a 91. CA loved it, called Doug a dancer and gives them an 87. The guy with the earring gives them a 97!!! Best of the night!

Erick and Carol are next and it looks like Carol has been sick. They are dancing the Pasa Doble to a song I don't know. They are pretty good. Erick is a cutie and an excellent dancer. Carol give 100% every time. She was right time, hit her marks and didn't let her son down. I don't think they were as good as Noelle and Doug but they were pretty close. Chris gives them a 91. CA gives them an 87. Ben gives them a 98. Which means they are one point ahead of Noelle and Doug.

The two pairs in the bottom are Dante and Dolores and Jesse and Rebecca. I think I'll be voting for Jesse and Rebecca. That lift that Dante and Dolores did is burned into my brain! YUCK! Sorry guys!

NEXT WEEK IS STREET DANCE!!! AWESOME!

Who will you be voting for?

PS - I'm sorry you didn't make it Rodilyn. I hope you and Jonathan get to perform that dance you worked all week on. If you do, please record it so I can see!

Your Mama Don't Dance - pre-show tib bit

Hello!!!

In anticipation of tonight's episode of Your Mama Don't Dance, here's a great video clip from CHELSEA LATELY...Enjoy! (I sure did!)

Thanks to Rhoda who I stole this from!

Good Luck to Rodilyn and Jonathan tonight!!!

Don't You (Forget About Me)

That's what someone will be singing to themselves tonight on their way to pack their bags for the trip home and I'm betting it's Chikezie. After reading the blogs today (see list on right side), most people agree with me...some people seem to agree WAY too much! *cue Twilight Zone Music*

I let my TiVo run without me awhile tonight because these hour results shows are WAY too long. Besides, if I miss anything funny, I have all the other blogs to let me know (see list on right side...again).

Has anyone else noticed that scarves seem to be popular this year. What's up with that? Was there a memo I missed? If so, are there rules?

The group sing was awesomely cheesy as always and I loved it! Not as much to point out this time except one thing. I think Jason went to the Davy Jones School of Dance!!! Maybe they should have sang Daydream Believer instead.

I skipped the iTunes crap and the highlights. I don't have a short term memory problem. Besides, I've been reading about last night's show all darn day!

Results Step one:
Chikezie - bottom three
Brooke - safe
Carly - safe

I was going to ask all of you about the rumor that someone on the show was pregnant but now I don't have to. We really do live in an Instant Gratification Society don't we?

Ford video. Pretty cool effects.

Results step two:
David A. - safe (it was "Up with People")
David Cook - safe (big time)
Syesha - bottom three
Michael Lee Johns - safe

Dolly is next week!! I love her! If you haven't seen "Best Little Whore House in Texas" rent it! It might be in the 2 for $8.00 bin at Wal-mart. When she sing I Will Always Love You to Bert Reynolds, I cry...every time! Hard Candy Christmas is an awesome song too! I saw her on a best duets program on CMT. She was with Kenny Rogers singing Islands in the Stream and she carried Kenny for the entire song.

I'm skipping the stupid phone calls! I'm going to skip Kim too. I didn't watch Idol when she was on it.

I've almost caught up with real time!

Results step three:
Ramiele - must be safe WOW! Does that mean Jason is in the bottom three?
Jason - bottom three
Kristy - safe

I almost got the bottom three right! Jason is freaked out but safe! That was quick!

I have now caught up to real time and that's a real bummer! Now I'm stuck watching commercials.

So.

Where's everybody from?

LOL

98% of all commercials are boring. 100% of the commercials during this break are boring. Airplane defects in the news!

The person going home tonight is..................Chickezie! I got 20 points in MJ's Office Pool!

I liked Chikezie but not as much as some of the others. Early face time helps A LOT!

Do you call it too?

"I think I'm an Aries"

Alright! Here we go! I'm starting a little late as usual but I've already heard from two of my friends that Pots and Pans does a REALLY bad job and gets weird comments from the judges. I'm interested to see what happened. Let's go to the tape!

As you all may (or may not) know, tonight is "Songs From the Year They Were Born" night for the top 10. Ryan opens the show, celebs are in the audience, Ricky and the band are ready, and the judges are here. Check, check, check and check. Okay, let's get this thing going.

Pots and Pans
(5701) is up first and is singing Alone. BAD move kid-bitter! (Pause.) WOW! She started off slow and boring and not in time. The song kicks in and so does the bad notes and the overwhelming back-up singers. Poor Pots and Pans has some really bad notes and has to over come the back-up singers. She ends it badly. Randy lets everyone know that she's sick and tells her that it was a bad song choice. Paula is pumping her up and playing up the sick angle. OMG! Simon says it wasn't as bad as Randy said. He also says that Pots and Pans is sick. What the hell is going on? Normally, being sick isn't an excuse but tonight it is. Poor song choice is poor song choice no matter your health and this was a poor song choice. She should have listened to me and did a little Tiffany.

Jason (5702) is singing Fragile by Sting AND it's his birthday! He thinks he's an Aries. He is so goofy...I love him! (Pause.) Well...maybe it's because I don't think I've ever heard that song before but I didn't think it was that good. It was hard to make out what he was singing most of the time. A good part of it was in Spanish I think, it was hard to tell. I think the guitar was over powering tonight and not a good idea. Randy says it was a good song choice and it was nice. Paula says he is staying true to who he is but playing it safe. Simon thinks he has had two bad weeks and he is too laid back. I'm with Simon except for one thing, I liked last week. Jason agrees with Simon and says he was sloppy and could have practiced more. Gotta love him!

Syesha (5703) does that damn baby cry again during her video package. Hasn't anyone told her that it is not cute, it's creepy?!? She is singing If I were Your Woman and I'm not sure if I know this one either. (Pause.) I have heard the song before but not that version. She's a good singer and I think she hit every note but she just doesn't grab me. We've heard her type before and I don't think we need any more. Randy likes it ad thinks it's her best performance. Syesha NEEDS to STFU when the judges are talking. Paula liked it and blabs on about her being a dark horse and sailing on to the finals. Simon didn't like the ending and I didn't like the fact that she kept talking during the judges time. I HATE that!

Chikezie (5704) is up next and singing "If Only For One Night" which is a ballad. His birthday is September 11th. (Pause.) The lounge singer is back! I guess that was a little too mean. I liked it. It was pleasant and in tune. There are a few really good parts and I think this may be just enough to keep him from going home but not from being in the bottom three. Randy didn't love it and said it was old school and not hip. Paula said it was a good through back and he did a great job. Simon thinks he sang it well but it was cheesy. OH NO! He just talked back to Simon. That's gonna cost him some vote.

Brooke (5705) is singing the song I pick for her, Every Breath You Take by the Police! I think I just might like her tonight. She plays the piano by ear. (Pause.) That is not how I heard it in my head. I didn't imagine a country version. It was okay. She had a goof in the beginning and had to start over. I'm not sure if she should have played the piano on that one. I don't thin Sting is too happy about that. OH! One more thing, GET RID OF THE "MOSH PIT"!!! Randy thought the front was good but didn't love the rest. Paula enjoyed this more than last week. Simon agreed with Randy but says it's good enough to keep her in. Of course it is, she's one of the chosen ones.

BeckEye's favorite, Michael Lee Johns (5706), is up next and singing We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions by Queen which is something that BeckEye told him NOT to do. Oh well! (Pause.) This can be best summed up by this line from the song: "Mistakes, I've made a few!" This was a big one buddy. This was just one big mess and he should end up in the bottom three for that but I don't think BeckEye will allow that to happen even though she should to scare him into singing better. Randy liked it? Paula liked it too? Simon liked it too? I guess I must have been hearing it wrong. Oh well. I don't like him anyway.

Carly (5707) is a Virgo!! Me too!! Virgos picky not particular. She is singing Total Eclipse of the Heart. (Pause.) I think I might have to stop writing about the contestants that I don't like. It never seems to end well. Carly was kinda boring and a little off key tonight especially on that weird ending. What the hell was that anyway? Generally, she a good singer but I thought she was better last week. She does this thing when she's singing that almost looks like she having sex. She pumps her arms and does this bouncy pelvis thrust thing that is just a little odd. Let's see what the judges say. Randy didn't love it but liked it. It was just okay. Paula liked it and wants to buy it. She loves what she did at the end. As Randy said, it wasn't in tune! Simon says she was uptight. I guess he didn't think the dance move was sex like!

Kermit the Star Search Boy (5708) will be singing "You're the Voice" What the hell is that? (Pause.) That was very "Up with People". I only counted three lip licks but it seemed like the cameras were being pulled away during the time when he would normally lick his lips. He was okay but did miss a few notes. I'm sure the judges will drool all over him. OMG! Simon didn't like it and called it a theme park performance. It's a pageant song. He's a pageant kid. 'Nuff said.

Kristy Lee Cook (5709) is singing "God Bless The USA." Wonderful. This should be a nightmare. (Pause.) I'm sorry, I've had enough of her. She needs to go home. Maybe since VFTW picked her, she'll go home this week. We can only hope. Randy thought is was nice. Paula thought is was a good choice and she sounded stronger. Simon calls it her best performance and thought it was a cleaver song choice. He is right...damn it!

David Cook (5710) is up and singing Billie Jean. From what I heard, he rocked it! (Pause.) THAT was awesome AND the performance of the night! I am buying that on Thursday first thing. I loved the slowed down version better than the original. David is going to win this whole thing! Randy calls him the most original ever and says he may win the whole thing. Paula can't sit down and thinks he is brilliant. Simon called it amazing! He is my American Idol!

Bottom Three: Ramiele, Chikezie, and Syesha. Michael Johns should be here but, after the judges comments, I don't think he will be. Kristy should be here as well but she sang a USA song and has a rabbit's foot up her ass so this will be the first week she is not in the bottom three. Carly also wasn't outstanding but her fans got a scare last week so they will be voting extra hard. David A. will never be in the bottom three until there are only three people left. At which point, David C. will soundly kick his ass! It's getting tough and I think it's going to be the person with the least number of fans heading home tomorrow and that, my friends, will be Chikezie.

Who do you think is going home?

I'd like to take a minute and give a shout out to Rodilyn. Her and her son are contestants on Lifetime's Your Mama Don't Dance and they need your help. Because of poor judging on the part of Ben Vereen (see old post), they are in the bottom two and could be going home this week. Voting is open until Wednesday, click here to vote. Also, stop by her MySpace page and say "HI!"

Is the Lottery is next?

The song spoilers are out and posted at Woes and Prose by Jennifer and I got one right! According to the spoilers, Brooke will be singing Every Breath You Take by the Police! What are the odds of that?!?! I better buy a lottery ticket this week!

The spoilers are suppose to be at MJ's Big Blog too but I'm having problems loading her page for some reason.

I can't wait to see how my song choice works for Brooke. This is just a guess, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like her tonight!

Poopie Dancing with the Stars

I'm not going to make this a habit but I had to say something. I just started watching the Dancing With The Stars episode tonight and I have to say that the judges were way to hard on Steve and Anna! I liked it. They weren't the best but they had me smiling and laughing and that is what makes the viewers at home vote. I wasn't going to vote this time because I'm voting for too many things as it is but I just might have to vote tonight. Two 5's and a 6? Bitch, p-leeze!

I think the buzz from the 100 is gone now

Good evening everyone and welcome to another blog about Your Mama Don't Dance. Tonight, we have the sons and the moms. The last sons and moms show put Rebecca and Jesse and Jeremy and Doris in the bottom two with Jeremy and Doris going home. Do Rebecca and Jesse have enough fire up their butts to keep them out of the bottom two this week? We shall see.

This week should be interesting. The opening says that the Moms and Sons will be dancing through the decades. I wonder what that means? We will find out which daughter dad team is going home first. the couples in the bottom two are Heather and Stephen and Brooke and Eric. I'm pretty sure that Brooke and Eric are safe and...they are! Sorry Heather and Stephen. I hope this show has helped him and that he's no longer thinking about killing himself. Can I just ask, what the hell is Heather wearing on her feet? She looks great in an coral colored halter dress and then, you look down and she has what appears to be unlaced Army boots on. Why did they let her wear those?

The pros are dancing to the 60's tonight. They started in the audience, which I always like and then did a round robin kind of thing around the edge of the dance floor. It was awesome when they were all together in the center dancing. I loved it. It makes me wish So You Think You Can Dance was on year-round! (ETA: You're right Rodilyn, this one seemed longer than the disco number from last week.)

The first pair are Erick and Carol and it looks like their doing the 50's. These two were great last week and got the first (and so far only) 100 point score of the show! During the rehearsal Erick says "I think the buzz from the 100 is gone now." That made me laugh (and is the blog title). Nope, they are doing the 40's to "Jump, Jive and Wail". They were awesome! Carol did a ton of fancy footwork, a tons of lifts, and only seemed to loose her place once (that I could tell). Erick better be careful or he's going to break her! Chris loved it and gives them a 90. CA was impressed and gives them an 84. Ben, the wild card, actually said "Mom, God damn!" I'm pretty sure you can say damn and you can say God but you can't say God Damn together. But maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, Ben liked it and gave them an 80. I don't know how he determines his scores and I don't think he does either!

Jonathan and Rodilyn are the second pair. I wish they weren't going after Erick and Carol. It just makes it that much harder for them. Judging by their outfits (which I love), THEY are doing the 50's. There was tension this week with Rodilyn and Jonathan about a cartwheel. I have to side with Rodilyn. My last cartwheel was when I was about 25 and I knew then that it was my last one. Rodilyn hit the nail on the head when she said "You don't understand it because what you do is so easy for you." Let's see if they came together for the dance this week. They are dancing to "Hound Dog". They did really good especially after the problems they had this week. I looked like Rodilyn was really having fun and she was much looser than last week. I'm assuming that they will get lots of points for improvement. Chris thought they were great and Rodilyn was sassy! He also doesn't understand that as you get older, your body isn't as flexible. He's on my shit list for a little bit. He gives them an 85. CA give them an 85 too and also wants to see the cartwheel. She's my age! She should understand. Oh, wait, she probably has a personal trainer that she stretches and exercises with everyday. She's on my shit list too! Ben babbles on about melding and "Rosilyn" (what a dork) listening to Jonathan and trusting him. At this point, Rodilyn snaps. She has had enough of the judges (professional dancers all) wanting to see the damn cartwheel and gives Ben a piece of her mind. Good for her! Ben gives them a 78. I might as well put Ben on my shit list too!

Jesse and Rebecca are dressed for the 70's..I hope! No, Ian says it's the 80's. I think the song is "Dancing in Heaven". I grew up in the 80's and I don't remember that song or anyone wearing those types of clothes. Maybe it was the early 80's? Ya think? They were better then last week and Rebecca was looser but not much. They made my smile but I didn't clap. Chris gives them an 84. CA gives them an 83. Ben gives them an 82. With their funny and nice comments, Chris and CA are off of my shit list but Ben is still there. If he keeps on scoring crazy, he's going to stay there too!

The one thing that I hate about this show is also the one thing I like. Everyone is likable and everyone seems really nice. It's great because I know that someone I like is going to win but it's also bad because I also know that someone I like is going to lose...a lot! I have a feeling that from here on out, I'm going to get teary at eliminations.

Dante and Dolores are the last pair and they are wearing purple, sequined MC Hammer pants. On second look, the outfits are more like Aladdin as Ian pointed out. Either way, they are hideous! I'm not even going to try to guess what decade they are dancing. They are dancing the 90's to an MC Hammer song, go figure! They are done dancing and I'm not sure what to make of it (since I now know who is in the bottom two and it's not these two). Dolores looked at Dante the entire time. I even think she turned around to see him when she wasn't suppose to be turned around. Her moves were pretty dorky and I didn't think showed any improvement over last week. I even think she went backwards. It seemed like she started off behind and spent the entire dance trying to catch up. It's hard for me to be so hard on her because, guess what, I like her and Dante (because, if you're going to be gay, it's best to be flaming). If I didn't already know they made the top two, I'd bet a million buck they were in the bottom two. Chris gives the an 80. CA gives them an 81. Ben give them a 90 and is still on my shit list.

Before we find out who the bottom two pairs are (which I already know) I have to pause and take a moment to address Ben's judging technique if you can call it that. I have no clue how he scores the pairs.

Lets take a look at the scoring for this evening in order (Chris, CA, Ben):
Erick and Carol: 90, 84, 80
Jonathan and Rodilyn: 85, 85, 78
Jesse and Rebecca: 84, 83, 82
Dante and Dolores: 80, 81, 90

Chris has them scored in the order that I would say they did and is fairly consistent. CA is also consistent although she doesn't agree with me which is fine. Ben, however, is all over the map. He gives the best pair an 80 and the worst pair a 90? What is up with that? Who can a normal, seeing person think that Dante and Dolores were 8-12 points better then the other pairs? I don't get it and, for that, Ben is permanently on my shit list.

With that said, the bottom two pairs are Jesse and Rebecca (again) and Jonathan and Rodilyn. You can vote for your favorite pair *cough*Jonathan and Rodilyn*cough* until Wednesday. Here's the link: http://dance.mylifetime.com/on-tv/shows/your-mama-dont-dance/vote/vote

Please go vote...NOW!

Happy Easter Y'all!

It's Easter today and with so many people running around to church, to see family and to eat ham, I'm staying home and conserving gas! I normally stay home this holiday, my husband works and I have a normal routine. I watch "religious" movies. In the DVD player right now is that Stephen King classic Children of the Corn, which is about children worshiping a corn god in Iowa. Also on today's viewing list is The Omen, The Exorcist, Stigmata, End of Days, and The Holy Grail. Normally, Dogma would be first on the list but I loaned that out to my bosses wife a few months ago and forgot to get it back. Bummer!

During this religious movie fest, I'm going to let you know my song picks for the Idol contestants this week. As most of you know, it's "Songs from the year they were born" week and, as Jennifer pointed out, due to the age of the contestants, it is basically 80's week again! I am picking my songs from the top 100 of the birth years. I know I said this before (but I still can't believe how old am)...three of the contestants were born the year I graduated high school. Well, here they are in no particular order. I've decided to pick three songs for each: one serious, one funny, and one that I would just LOVE to hear. I'm also assuming that they can get the rights to all these songs.

Michael Lee Johns (1978) is the oldest and has a chance to do some Bee Gees which I hope he does not. I was going to try to download my final song picks to determine a winner but it's taking too long! So I'm just going to go by what I remember of the songs.
Serious: Just the Way You Are - Billy Joel
Funny: Copacabana - Barry Manilow (Can you picture it!)
Love: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmeralde (just thinking about this song makes me smile...yes, I'm a dork)

Kristy Lee Cook (1984) is the contestant that won't leave and I'm not sure if she'll even leave this week. She has quite a few options but I'm assuming she'll pick Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper but that wouldn't be my pick.
Serious: Let's Hear It For The Boys - Deniece Williams (she needs something up beat that can have a country twang)
Funny: I Want A New Drug - Huey Lewis and The News (Dedicated to Paula of course)
Love: On The Dark Side - John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band (what girl in the 80's didn't fall in love with this song and Michael Paré from Eddie and the Cruisers?)

Chikezie (1985) needs another song that is going to blow us way this week or he may be going home. I'd miss him if that happened.
Serious: Suddenly - Billy Ocean (he should start this one sitting on a stool and end sitting on the stairs going down into the audience)
Funny: California Girls - David Lee Roth (no quicker way to funny than singing a song made famous by someone who can't sing)
Love: Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears for Fears (it's Tears for Fears, what else do I need to say?)

How much a dislike David Archuleta (1990) hit home while I was trying to find a song for him. I have a few that are serious but most are funny. I think he will end of singing How am I Suppose to Live Without You by Michael Bolton because it's a boring ballad and that's what he can sing.
Serious: I Go To Extremes - Billy Joel
Funny: Opposites Attract - Paula Abdul (this was tied with Pump Up the Jam by Technotronic and Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice)
Love: Without You - Motley Crue (there wasn't much from that year that I even liked)

David Cook (1982) was hard to pick for as well but for different reasons. I LIKE him. He has a lot of options in front of him. The following picks need to have him fix the arrangement either slower and softer or faster and harder
Serious: Only The Lonely - The Motels (faster and harder - like a Marilyn Manson version)
Funny: couldn't find anything LOL funny
Love: Kids in America - Kim Wilde or Don't Talk to Strangers - Rick Springfield (either one of these could be made edgier by this talented performer!)

Brooke White and Carly Smithson (1983) have they same birth year and will be choosing from the same list. I'd like them both to do something unexpected but I'm not sure if my song choices show that. Here are my picks for Brooke.
Serious: Every Breath You Take - Police
Funny: Mickey - Toni Basil
Love: I don't really like her and didn't really find any songs that I wanted her to sing

Here are my picks for Carly.
Serious: Back on The Chain Gang - Pretenders (let's hope she doesn't add any glory notes to it)
Funny: I'll Tumble 4 Ya - Culture Club (dedicated to Randy, LOL)
Love: I don't really like her either

This leaves the three that were born the year I graduated high school. I would like to say that musically, 1987 sucked. It was hard finding songs for these guys and I didn't find any really funny ones.

Ramiele Malubay is in danger this week and really needs to step it up unfortunately, she was born in 1987 which doesn't offer much help.
Serious: (I Just) Died in Your Arms - Cutting Crew (I really think she could change this up and make it her own)
Kinda Funny: I Think We're Alone Now - (she always looks like she going to the mall so why not sing a song by someone who sang in a mall)
Love: Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi (I love this song and think she would rock it)

Syesha Mercado isn't one of the favorites this year and really needs to pick a good song, oh well. She NEEDS to stay away from Whitney but I don't think that's going to happen.
Serious: You Keep Me Hanging On - Kim Wilde (not much to pick from)
Kind Funny: Breakout - Swing Sister
Love: please reread what I wrote about Brooke and Carly

Jason Castro is a cutie and I found a few more songs for him...but not many.
Serious: With Or Without You - U2 (right up his alley)
Kinda Funny: Don't Get Me Wrong - Pretenders (I think he could do a good job on this)
Love: Lady In Red - Chris DeBurgh (I'd prefer Don't Pay the Ferryman but it wasn't on the list)

Well, those are my picks. What are yours?

Rebecca and Jesse have a fire up their butts

Tonight is another episode of Your Mama Don't dance so I thought I'd better see last weeks show before then. If this episode is like the others, we should find out which son and mom team is going home from the last show. I was rooting for Rebecca. Let's see if she made it.

I just thought of something. Here's the pattern so far. Dads and daughters, a week passes, we find out which dad and daughter go home then Sons and Moms on the same show, a week passes, we find out which son and mom go home then everyone dances? Does that mean that the son and mom that go home had to learn another routine that they will never perform? I guess we'll see.

Tivo time must be different then Lifetime time because it's already started. I think I heard Disco! Yep! At least the girls and their dads are doing disco, not sure if the guy and their moms will be doing Disco tonight too or what.

Well, I should have just waited a few minutes. Ian has explained it all! Just the girls and their dads will be dancing Disco tonight. Next week (tonight actually) the guys and their moms will be dancing. After that, the six remaining pairs will dance each week until someone wins. I got it now!

The son and mom pair going home is Jeremy and Doris. That means Jesse and Rebecca will be staying! Yeah!!! It's sad to see people go. All of the pairs are winners! Great! Now I sound like Ben Vereen!

Group dance!!!!! Yeah! Rodilyn told me they were doing this but I'm still very excited and happy. I love dancing! And! It looks like a Disco number! They are awesome but I hope it's longer next time. I'm not sure but I think that was barely a minute.

Nicole and Michael are up first. They look fierce in matching PINK outfits! During the rehearsal footage, there is a spot where Michael reminds me of my grandpa dancing. The only thing missing was the Mike Brady Perm! They are dancing to "I Will Survive". Love that song! They were awesome yet again. I was completely entertained. He danced like my grandpa again! Let's see what the judges say. Do you think they will start with that stupidly named Vitamin C?

Side bar: I just went to Wikipedia and found out a little about Vitamin C. She is a month older than I am, she got married the same year that I did, and her real name is Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick. I think I'll start calling her CA.

Back to the show. Tonight Ian starts with Chris. He likes the lifts but doesn't want Michael to force the smile. He gives them an 86. CA is next and loved the death spin and gives them an 81. Ben says he recognized Michael. He gives them a 79.

We get back from the commercials and Ian is all decked out in a Travolta Disco Suit and looks mighty fine! He even dances a little.

The next pair up is Brooke and Eric. They did a good job last time. Let's hope they do well again. They are also wearing awesome outfits. The song they are dancing to is "Heart of Glass". Love this one too! They were pretty good but they don't make me smile as much as Nicole and Michael. Chris gives them an 85. CA is next and gives them a 75. Ben gives them a 78.

Heather and Stephen are the next pair. Stephen is wearing an Elvis scarf. Stephen has some grandpa moves too! They are dancing to "Boogie, Oogie, Oogie". My uncle Jim's nickname is Oogie, but I'm not sure if that's how you spell it. Anyway, back to the dancing. Okay, I like these two despite the depressed, divorced dad thing. I thought he loosened up a little and looked like he was having a good time. He seemed to miss a few steps but didn't let it get him down. Chris gives them a 76. CA is next and gives them a 71. Ben gives them a 79.

I just remembered that, during the first show blog, I gave them scores too under the name Formula 410! Oh well! I'll think about it. I bring it back for the next show.

Ian asks the sons (and moms) what they think. Dante says he's scared and Jonathan give me the title for this blog! "...Rebecca and Jesse have a fire up their butts." LOL

Hi Rodilyn! You look pretty in your feather boa!

Noelle and Doug are the last pair. They are one of my favorite as well. It's really hard to not have every pair be my favorite. Noelle can call her dad her friend and she tears up and so do I! They are having awesome music tonight. This time they are dancing to "Ring My Bell"! They did an excellent job. I think they were the best of the night with Nicole and Michael running a close second. Doug seemed to be pretty lose and having a good time. Chris gives them an 88 (highest from him tonight). CA is next and gives them an 82 (her highest as well). Ben gives them an 81 (his highest as well). Like I said, best of the night!

The pairs up for elimination are Brooke and Eric and Heather and Stephen (again). I think Heather and Stephen may be going home this time. But who knows. Stephen and Heather made me smile more than Brooke and Eric. I am behind so I don't get to vote.

The show ends with an awesome group hustle!

Who are your favorites?

http://www.musicoutfitters.com/topsongs/XXXX.htm

Replace the "XXXX" for the year, i.e. 1987

OMG! Three of the contestants were BORN the year I graduated High School!

I'll be speculating on song choice either Friday or Sunday! Post your choice here!

The end of the Beatles?

We can only hope! Let's also hope that they practiced this group sing longer than they did the last one. Ryan is going to tell as the mentors for this year. The first one is Dolly Parton!!! I love her. "The Best Little Whore House in Texas" is one of my favorite musicals! She had written a ton of songs so it should be a good show as long as the idols listen to her. She's awesome and funny! OMG! It's true! The second one announced is Mariah Carey. Please, oh please, let Amanda make it that far!!!! Third is Andrew Lloyd Webber for "Show Tunes" night?!? Jason needs to do "If I were a Rich Man"! The last one is Neil Diamond. I don't know about you but I'll be looking for "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show". Chop THAT one down to 90 seconds! All in all, it looks pretty good...except for Mariah. She sings notes only dogs can here.

Jordon is certified Gold. Is that the lowest? I'm not sure how that works.

The song writing contest is back in cased you haven't heard that already.

"Okay! I just got done watching the group sing and there are a few things that begged to be pointed out. It started out pretty strong (as far as groups sings go) with just the guys then Brooke enters singing I don't know what and joins up with Ramiele who's mic is not working. The weird thing about it is that I was looking at Ramiele and hearing Brooke which totally threw me off. If you have it recorded, watch it again and just look at Ramiele, it's pretty funny. Carly sings and then onto Syesha. When the singing switches from Syesha to Kristy, the camera goes all crazy for a second, like the cameraman tripped. I wouldn't be surprised if Syesha "accidentally" bumped into him/her. The girls then oddly sit on the couches of death and sway back and forth until the guys come over and get them. They're singing about the earth being round and head full into an Up-With-People Version of a group sing with TONS of "ah-ah-ahs". Amanda has a very tiny part at the end just before the final group glory note. WOW! That's entertainment! That was more singing then the entire show last night.

They are really trying to fill time tonight by bringing each contestant up one at a time to tell them if they are safe? Holy crap! This is going to take forever.

First up: Brooke - safe
Next: Carly - Shocker! She's in the bottom three! I don't think anybody saw that coming!
Next: Kermit the Star Search Boy - why didn't he just walk straight to the couches?
Next: Michael - is safe? He was WAY worse than Carly

WOW! I just assumed that Carly was automatically in the final four. I don't think she's going to go home cause it's too early for THAT big of a shocker.

Up next is the making of the Ford video. Just show the damn video! That was worth the wait...not!

Back to the killings: David Cook - safe
Next: Kristy Lee Cook - bottom three
Next: Jason - safe
Then I think he says "Let's tour Vegas!" to David C. and Michael!
Next: Ramiele - she must be safe...and she is

The caller portion of the show is next and I'm fast forwarding.

The Pickler is up next! The interview is great. My favorite line: "I couldn't skate worth a crap." She is funny and entertaining and still a little cross-eyed. OH! She is singing "Red High Heels" I thought she was going to sing something new. Oh well! At least I can sing along. Yes, I downloaded it as soon as it was on iTunes. Sometimes I think I need professional help. This live version is about 10 times twangy-er then the recording. Her hair is cute. She's having the time of her life..good for her!

Idol gives Back is with Elliott!! Damn! Now I have to watch this part. Crap! Ohhh! They just named a baby after Elliott and now he's crying and now I'm crying!

Next out is Syesha and she's in the top ten damn it!
The final two are Amanda and Chikezie and Chikezie is safe.

The bottom three are Amanda, Kristy, and Carly.

Over to the couches first is Carly. Duh!

It's down to Amanda and Kristy. And Amanda is going home!!! DrillerAA and Ian had it right! I got no points in the pools this week! I guess I'll be back to 145th place again! It looks like Kristy thought she should have went home. Amanda had to tell her it as alright and point her to the couches.

I wanted Amanda on the tour over Kristy but I guess America wants Kristy to get her horse back.

What do you think?

Thrift Store Sneek Peek

"Vinyl is in with the current generation who are more interested in carefree living than in the shibboleths of decorating chic. There isn't a room in the house that can't benefit from the vinyl touch."

-From a 1973 book called "Decorating with Confidence" and I can't wait for more!

We all Live in a Yellow Time Machine!

Well, not really but it does feel like we're repeating ourselves with another Lennon/McCarney Beatles week. Did they sing song last week that weren't from the Beatles? I'm delayed a bit in starting this post because I had to finish up an episode of Your Mamma Don't Dance. Check it out below. I should be able to catch up if I don't write too much. It is a two-hour show so there will be plenty of filer to fast forward through.

Ryan tells us that the theater holds 500 people. I really needed to know that, thanks Ryan. If things go as they have been, Pots and Pans (Ramiele) gets the pimp spot tonight. That's odd. Maybe the order IS done randomly?

Randy is sleepy. Paula uses the word gumption. Simon says it's half and half between popularity and singing ability. I'm fast forwarding through the Beatles stuff.

Amanda (5701) is in the dead-man's spot. She is singing "Back in the USSR." I hope I can understand her. (pause) I understood almost every word. What's up with that? Was she able to do that the whole time and just decided to pull it out now since she got the dead-man's spot? I'm not sure if VTFW is going to be able to support her after tonight. However, she is the only non-pop contestant and doesn't fit into the normal Idol mold so they probably will continue their support. Also, can you just imagine her during Mariah Carey week?!?! Randy and Paula liked it for the most part. Simon would like her to do something different.

Kristy Lee Cook (5702) is next and will be killing "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" this week. (Pause) I don't know what to say. It was okay but very boring and seemed very long. Even she looked bored towards the end. I don't like her anyway and I hope she's next to go. She did end it with and Idol glory note. Randy doesn't know about it. Paula gives her the kiss of death and tells her she looks great. Simon tells her she's not a good performer. He can be just plain mean some times. This is a lesson to all you Idol wanna-bes out there. Be yourself and do what you want to do. Don't listen to what the judges say. They told her to take a risk. She did that last week and they hated it and told her to stick to the original. This week she stick to the original, for the most part, and they don't like it because it was boring and she didn't change it up. Sometimes, you just can't win.

Kermit the Star Search Boy (5703) is going to try to remember the words to "The Long and Winding Road". (Pause) He remembered all the words this time, that's a plus. I only saw him lick his lips 6 times. I couldn't always see his mouth so I'm sure the actual count is higher. I'm sure the judges will trip over themselves praising him. I'm sorry, I just don't like him. He seems like a Michael Buble type of singer which is NOT my type of singing. Rodilyn (Your Mama Don't Dance) likes him and so do the judges. I don't get all the love. I guess it's just me.

Ryan does a little product placement advertising for AT&T and iTunes and then makes fun of the whole thing by making the judges do a product placement ad for Coke. I chuckled.

Michael Lee Johns (5704) will be singing "A Day In The Life". I love this song too bad I don't like Michael. (Pause) I think the arrangement sucks ass. He was out of tune for quite a bit of the beginning and spend a lot of his time on "ah-ah-ah" crap instead of singing. I wonder if the judges will like it or hate it. I'm predicting that Randy will like most of it. Paula will like it and say something about color or being true to who he is and Simon will call it self-indulgent (which it was). Am I right? I'm wrong on Randy, he didn't like it. I'm wrong about Paula too! Simon didn't call it self-indulgent but he didn't like it. BTW, Michael sang the song for a dead friend. That's nice but a shameful grab for sympathy votes IMO.

I HAVE to have a MacBook Air! I think I'm said this before. Has someone let my husband know yet? You should.

Brooke (5705) will be singing a Carly Simon Carole King version of "Here Comes The Sun". I don't really like her either if you can't tell. (Pause) Oh look, she has a sun rising in the background monitor. Who would have ever thought of that? Maybe it WAS more of a Carly version? I don't like it when she talks to the judges. Randy didn't really like her performance either. Paula liked the color of her dress which was yellow...like the sun. Simon called it terrible and predictable. She tries to talk over top of Simon but he just keeps on going. Good for him! I know someone that interrupts you when your talking and it pisses me off! She just told Simon to "Listen!" OMG! That was a bad move. NO, Ryan, I do NOT have to love her.

David C. (5706) is singing "Day Tripper" the White Snake Version. Love White Snake! (Pause) I think I'm going to have to vote for him tonight. I liked it. I will be purchasing that this week from iTunes. That'll be another 99 cents from me for the Idol machine. I'm not so sure about the whole Peter Frampton guitar/voice thingy he did but I can overlook that this time. Randy and Paula liked it but Simon didn't. Do all British guys sound effeminate or is it just Simon?

Kellie Pickler is going to be on the results show. Oh joy.

Carly (5707) is next. She is singing "Blackbird". It's a good song. (Pause) I liked it but it was a bit boring. She seems to hunch over when she sings. The shirt is bad. Randy and Paula love it and Randy even makes up new word. Simon calls THIS song indulgent. She is also talking during the judges time. Did I say the I don't like that? I think I did. That was WAY too much talking for me. Holy crap! She got 7 tats on her fingers! Is she planning on going to prison?

Jason (5708) will be singing "Michelle". He is too funny! He thought "ma belle" was in English so I guess it thought it was "BELL". That's good stuff right there! (Pause) Last week I said he was getting boring and predictable. I guess it must have been the song choice because he's sings the same type of song this week but I love it!! He is so cute and does this crooked-smile-singing thing that makes me smile. When he started walking around and put his hand in the air with a little French twist, it was priceless! I hope the judges like him as much as I did. I'll be voting for him too! Randy didn't really like it. Paula didn't really like it either. Simon tells him that his face sold it and he's right! I'll buy this song too!

Syesha (5709) is singing "Yesterday". I'm not a big fan of her either. She is so self-centered. (Pause) It was a mess. She was all over the place with the runs and the notes. I wouldn't be sad if she went home tomorrow. Randy really liked it and the arrangement. Paula liked it but wants more connection. Simon told it was her best performance so far but not incredible.

I hope Chikezie (5710) blows me away again. He will hopefully be slapping the funk on "I've Just Seen Her Face". (Pause) I'm not sure about it. There was no funk brought just country. He lost me with the harmonica. Randy is just as confused as I am. Paula got it but that's because she's high. Simon liked the beginning and but not the rest.

Pots and Pans (5711) has the pimp spot and is singing "I Should Have Known Better". (Pause) Was it just me or did she remind you of Kathy Lee Gifford singing? It was just too Muzak/white bread for me. She's in danger of being in the bottom three but I don't think she'll go home because she's in the pimp spot. I don't think ANYONE has ever gone home if they sang last. Randy and Paula didn't really like it and Simon REALLY didn't like it.

Who were your favorites?

The bottom three will be Ramiele, Syesha, and Kristy Lee Cook with Syesha drawing the short straw. I think the Kristy's fans are strong enough to keep her here one more week. They want her to get her horse back.

Who are your bottom three and who do you think will leave?

Your Mama Don't Dance - Mom Version 3/7

Howdy! And a big welcome back...to me! I've been busy and neglecting this show. I received a comment today from one of the contestants (can you believe it!!) and I promised that I would try to catch up. Of course, a friend of mine is on Spring Break this week and wanted to go to a couple of Thrift Stores after work and I just got home. I got a couple of pretty neat books and I'll be sharing those with all of my readers later. I haven't had dinner so I'm going to take a moment to order a pizza.

Have you ordered from Domino's Online lately? They have the coolest thing. It's a Pizza Tracker and it tells you what is going on with your pizza in real time. Tasha has already put my pizza in the oven!

Anyway, back to the task at hand. Your Mama Don't Dance! Last week (in my viewing time) we watched the girls dance with their dads. All the stories were touching and I liked all the pairs (I've decided that "pairs" is a good term for this show NOT couples). This week, the show starts with letting us know who goes home from the daughter/dad combos. It's been a little too long and I can't remember who I voted for but I liked them both. Heather and Stephen are saved and I think I voted for them...yeah, that's it. I'm always right! It's sad that people have to be eliminated but someone has to win. As I said, I liked both pairs. The losing pair is sad to go but glad they got to take part.

The first son/mom pair is Jonathan and Rodilyn. Rodilyn is the contestant that stopped by my blog!!! COOL! Hi Rodilyn! Let me know if I can put a link to your MySpace page in my blog. I hope I like you two! Jonathan was a cheerleader before dancing. Rodilyn has SIX kids! One of her children was diagnosed with leukemia. Kids and cancer should not mix! Can I just say that Rodilyn looks DAMN good for having six kids! Jonathan and Rodilyn have a great relationship and I'm already getting teary!! They look spiffy in their dance outfits. Let's see how rehearsals went first. Well, judging by the tape, it was A LOT of work! They are dancing to "Rapture" by Blondie! That is one of my all time faves! Well, I guess I'm voting for them! Their dance was pretty good. There were a few times that were a little more like walking then dancing but I think that was just nerves. They had some nice moves in the middle and the end and an excellent finish! Let's see what the judges have to say. If Ben tells them that they already won, I'm not going to listen to the judges anymore. (My pizza is here!) Ian goes to Chris first and Chris loves Jonathan and think Rodilyn is hot. He gives them an 86. Vitamin Girl give them a 79. Ben babbles on give them a 90. Not bad!

Second up is Dante and Dolores. Dante does ballet and is from Jersey. Dolores is actually Dante's step-mom and he didn't like her too much in the beginning. But it looks like they are getting along now. They come out in their outfits and she is rocking the 80's look! Rehearsal didn't look like ti went well. They are dancing to "Shut up and Drive". I thought I'd be doing something from the 80's. Oh well! Dante seems to be doing a lot of dancing and Dolores seems to be doing a lot of walking and pointing. They are pulling a page out of Heather and Stephen's play book and standing on the edge of the dance floor playing to the crowd. I didn't like them near as much as the first couple pair. Chris give them an 81. Vitamin Girl gives them a 78. Ben gives them a 92 but not before babbling.

Jesse and Rebecca are the third pair of the night. Mom can do some popping! At least that's what I think it's called. Rebecca has had breast cancer twice. Okay, ANYONE and cancer just sucks! When asked who his least favorite dancer partner would be, he actually said his mom. He's the first one to do that. They come out with their dance outfits on and it looks like were in for some hip hop...but not until we see how rehearsal went. As with the previous pairs, it did not go well, They are dancing to the always awesome "You Dropped the Bomb on Me" by Grand Funk Railroad! With what I've seen as far and their choice of music, I KNOW I'm gonna like them! And I do, I loved the attitude, dancing not so much but I can over look that. Rebecca looked like she had a great time. Chris gives them a 90. Vitamin Girl gives them an 82! Ben babbles before giving them a 73!! WTH is wrong with Ben??

Fourth up is Erick and Carol. When they revealed his mom as his dance partner, He said she was the number one person he would want to dance with!
How sweet! How can anyone dislike any of the contestants on this show? They look classy in their outfits! Guess what? Rehearsals seemed to go pretty well. Guess what? They seem to be doing ACTUAL Contemporary Dance with a capital "C"! WOW! That's a tough thing to do! They was the best dancing so far. Let's see how the judges liked it. Chris gives them a 95! Vitamin Girl gives them an 86! Ben is speechless, yeah right! He babbles before giving them a 100!! OMG!!!! Where are they going to go from here? It's the first 100 of the show. I forgot to say they danced to "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins (If I got that wrong, I'm sure someone will let me know.

Jeremy and Doris are the last pair. Jesse is a mama's boy...go figure. They outfits are classy as well. Their rehearsals went pretty good! So I'm expecting them to kick some ass. They are dancing to "Paint it Black" from Guitar Hero III! Ha-Ha! They did Contemporary with a capital "C" as well. Not too bad but not as good as Erick and Carol.
Chris gives them an 89. Vitamin Girl gives them an 81. Ben babbles again and give them a 74! Ben is on something!

The bottom two pairs are Jeremy and Doris and Jesse and Rebecca. Since the next show has already happened, I hope that Jesse and Rebecca were saved. I have two favorites from this episode, Erick and Carol and Jonathan and Rodilyn. Who are your favorites? Are you watching?

I'll see tomorrow who got to stay but right now it's time for American Idol.

How to order a sandwich

Earlier this week I stopped into the Olde Towne Cafe for a sandwich. I've only been there a couple of times but every time, they have a fixed menu. I'm not sure if it's like that all the time but I think so. On the menu they had a turkey and provolone on a croissant but I wanted Ham and Swiss. They also had a ham sandwich and another kind of sandwich that had Swiss cheese. When the waiter took my order, I asked him if I could get the Turkey and Provolone except with ham and Swiss. His answer, "No, it's a fixed menu." So I decided that I'd try it a different way. I pointed at the ham sandwich and asked if I could get that on a croissant instead. His answer, "Sure." Okay, step one complete. Then I added, "Can you throw a slice of Swiss cheese on that as well?" "No problem," he says. Can you believe it?!?! I'm not even sure if he EVER realized that I got what I originally asked for.

The sandwich was really good by the way!

Check out Air Quote for another fabulous story of customer service in Winchester, VA.

Embarrassed...Who? Me?

When I was around 10 or 11, I was playing kick ball during church youth group one day. Whenever it was my turn, the other team would move infield and start yelling "She can't kick" and "Easy Out". Well, I had enough! I was determined to kick that damn darn ball to the other side of the field! My fists were clenched along with my jaw. The ball started coming towards me and everyone was yelling. I ran up to it, drew my leg back and prepared to kick that ball harder than ever before! Here it is! The moment of truth! And I...missed the ball completely and fell flat on my back! I can't tell you what happened next because I have blocked the rest of that day out of my mind. What I can tell you is this: this is in no way, shape, or form my MOST embarrassing moment. That will go to the grave with me!

What's one of your embarrassing moments?

Sanjaya is in the HOUSE!

It's that time of the week, death-day. Today we see the end of some one's "dreams" and the beginning of their downward spiral into drugs and sex. Oh wait! That was just Jessica Sierra! It's the end of the Idol-brick Road for someone. My money (and all of my office pool points) is on David H. Let's see if I can jump ahead in the standings. I think I'm in place 145 now.

That show has started but I wanted to finish last weeks episode of "America's Next Top Model" it was the make over show which is always...fierce! I'm not that into ANTM this season so I can't even tell you the name of the person who went home. I can tell you that it was the chick that never said "Thank you". Anyway, on with the show!

Less than 30 seconds into it and Ryan introduces Jim Carey in the audience. He's dressed like a bad Horton?!? WTF?!? Doesn't he have tons of money? Does he really have that much invested in this new movie that he feels compelled to dress up like an idiot for the home audience? Apparently so. Not so witty banter ensues between Ryan and Jim with so very bad jokes about Fox movies and the elephant in the room. Why do they love to torture us like this?

Ryan just announced that next week is going to be MORE Lennon/McCartney songs? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I will start now in hoping that Kermit the Star Search Kid will eff-up again! Medley time!! They just sang parts of a ton of songs and I'm pretty sure they rehearsed a whole hour on that. I normally enjoy the group sing (or pointy pose, as Jennifer calls it) but this one didn't seem to thought out. Where are the matching outfit?

I would be SOOO pissed if I was sitting behind Jim Carey!

SANJAYA and SISJAYA!!!!!! Is it Christmas? Maybe my birthday?

--commercials

It's time for the recap of what we saw last night in case we are all morons. Well, we are watching American Idol! Just Kidding! I really liked Chikezie!!

It's the standard bottom three search.

First group:
Carly - safe
Michael - safe
Jason - safe
Syesha - bottom three (I think she had a fight with her hair brush tonight)

Since we have an hour to kill, they are making Syesha redo the crap she did last night. I'm pretty sure she's worse tonight. The end was painful!!!!!!

--commercials

The Ford commercial is to "The Distance" by Cake. I would have preferred "Stick Shifts and Safety Belts" but that's just me.

Great! More filler! Horton Hears a Who filler to be exact.

Second group:
Chikezie - safe
Amanda - safe
David C - safe
Kristy - bottom three (queen of the poopy dance)

I will have to say, I liked the fact that she was looking for the mic before she was told she was in the bottom 3. My ears are bleeding! I must fast forward! Simon didn't like it any better.

They are taking calls? Oh yeah, I heard about that.

On a side note, quite a few bloggers had Chikezie leaving first Including the High Lord. I would have put him first to leave as well...if I had been quicker!

--commercials

They are actually taking calls. The first caller asks Jason which American Idol judge he would be. I'm guessing that he'll go with Paula for all the cool drugs! I couldn't sit and listen to the rest. Great! Now it's Kat singing to her daddy husband. Enough of that!

--commercials

I have to admit I really laughed at Jim Carey on the couch! Him rocking back and forth saying "I know it's gonna be me." Too funny. I know we've seen it before but it was still funny.

Third Group (called to the stage):
David A. - safe
Brooke - safe
Ramiele - safe

Danny Sighting!!!! He's my newest MySpace friend!

David H. - bottom three (start practicing that tricky g-string removal maneuver)

I'm not listening to this again. I love TiVo!

--commercials (I really love TiVo)

The first person sent back to the couches is... But first, we have to hear from the judges. Blah, blah, blah.

The first person safe is Syesha. I'm one step closer to 20 points!!

The person going home is David!! Yes! Give me them 20 points!!! Start practicing your stripper moves tonight!

I'm happy. Are you happy?

Holy Moley!!!

I LOVE Vote for the Worst!!! I was on their site earlier today and posted a few comments (about 4) with a link to this blog. Before I tell you what happened I should tell you that the most traffic I have ever had on my blog during one day is 35. So imagine my surprise when I pulled up my stat counter and saw the following.

OH! MY! GOD!!!! I think I peed myself a little!!

Thanks everyone for stopping by! Next time...leave a comment! The comment thing goes for my regular readers too!

She Loves You...

...or not. According to the Internets, the kids are singing the Beatles tonight AND they only had a list of 25 songs to pick from. This does not bode well for the listening audience!

I've deciding that I am not blog about any of the things I listed in the last post until Thursday at the earliest. I did a quick update to my food blog and I'm not sure if I have it in me to do THREE posts today. My humor tank is not on full anyway. I'll be back later for Idol! Who the hell am I going to vote for?!?!?
----------

The show starts with Ryan calling the kids the best talent yet. I am so tired of that! Do they think if they have Ryan say to enough that America will start believing it? Why not?! It's worked every other year! Sorry, I'll stop ranting.

Idol has a new show opener and a new stage. The opener is okay but has some odd moments with hybrid computer people staring at the camera. Maybe creepy would be a better word. I'm sure it will grow on me. Hello new set! The band is above and in the back. There are flashy new lights and American Idol spinning globe-like thingies.

I wonder what Paula's on tonight. Oh good. More gay sexual banter between Ryan and Simon. I can't get enough of that.

Well, Ryan tells as all about the Beatles. No, wait! It's the Lennon/McCartney song book! Well! That's a horse of a different color...I guess. Maybe that's why the kids only got to pick from a list of 25 songs. Doubt it. Also, the show is two hours so that means plenty of filler. Yeah.

Syesha (5701) is in the dead man's spot. I wonder what the stats are on the show opener going home in top twelve week. Can I hope that it's 100%? I am not a Syesha fan. In her package she tells as yet again about her wonderful acting career in Miami. Miami?? Does she do local commercials and extra parts on CSI and Burn Notice? How big is the acting scene in the big MIA? It really wouldn't have mattered what she said, I would have found something to pick on. She is singing "Got to get you into my life." Oh! I'll be pausing my blogging to watch before I comment tonight. (Pause) What can I say. She sucked. The arrangement was terrible, her entrance was bad because she just seemed like she was walking and not performing, her outfit and hair reminded me of Whitney in the 90's, and her singing was not up to par. YUCK! Randy and Paula liked it at the half way point and Simon liked it better than last week. Simon is drinking from Paula's cup.

Commercial time!! Good! I get to fast forward and try to catch up!

Chikezie (5702) tells us that he thought he was going home last week. So did I!! Damn it! He is a TSA asshole. Sorry! WAS a TSA asshole. His pick is "She's a Woman". (Pause) Can I just say THAT was awesome!!!! I loved it! I can't believe it but I'm glad Danny went home. I am downloading that song tomorrow. It started out in a Bluegrass way and turned into full blown rock! Chikezie you are no longer Chicken Fricassee and you have my votes tonight!
This was the best performance so far this year for me! LOVED IT! The judges loved it as well! Ryan really liked it too and went insane! He ran around the stage with Chikezie yelling at him about working the stage and THEN started putting his hands on Chikezie's head and talking about the sweat.

Pots and Pans (5703) worked at a sushi place and smelled liked soy sauce. Her family is also REALLY tiny. She is singing "In My Life" for all of her friends that have left the show. Songs like these tend to be prophetic so she maybe leaving us tomorrow. (Pause) I started to listen to Randy before I started typing and I think he said it best. It was pretty but it was pretty boring. The way some of the words come out of her mouth was odd. What is that annunciation, pronunciation, diction? I need help. Paula calls it pretty safe. Simon was bored to tears (he didn't pick up on the "pretty" theme).

Did Ryan just say FULL LENGTH AUDIO VERSIONS!!!!! Move over Elliott, I just may have a new ringtone tomorrow! (I've had "Trouble" by Elliott from Season 5 as my ringtone since the day after he performed it.)

Jason (5704) failed a music class in college but didn't mention anything about the MTV show he was on. He's singing "If I Fell" and he's excited. (Pause) I think I just might be getting tired of him. It was nice and I like the way he sings but the songs are sounding the same. It's hard to explain. Maybe the judges saw what I saw. Simon said "Student in a bedroom at midnight" How does Simon come up with these things? Anyway, Paula liked it because she's on drugs she felt the emotional connection. Randy and Simon (and me) not so much.

Carly (5705) likes her stool. heh! She sings "Come Together" every Saturday. (Pause) She performs as advertised. I liked it and I like her voice but I still don't like her and I still can't vote for her. If I didn't find out new (bad) things about her almost every week, I might think about voting for her but that's not happening. The judges also perform as advertised and pimp her like there was no tomorrow.

*Hell's Kitchen premieres April 1st! YEAH!*

David C. (5706) use to bartender and lay gigs at the same bar. He's singing "Eleanor Rigby" and realizes that everyone knows these songs. (Pause) Unlike her version of "Hello" this sound like Daughtry-lite. He has a pretty good spot towards the end but I don't think it redeems the rest of the song. He seems pretty pleased with himself. I'm beginning to notice that, in Paula's mind, she knows EVERYTHING. And yet she still manages to babble. Randy and Simon like him too. I'm not seeing it this week.

Brooke (5707) and Syesha had the same hairdresser this week. She's singing "Let it Be". (Pause) Sorry! I fell asleep for a minute. What was I doing? Oh yeah. "Let it Be". Oh boy. She can't sing the same every week because it's boring. Sheryl Crow always sounds like Sheryl Crow but she doesn't always sing the same type of song. The judges love it...what else is new. Ryan is doing something with ladies shoes...again.

David H. (5708) doesn't mention the fact that he was a stripper. Wonder why? David is singing "I saw her standing there". (Pause) Methinks thou doth protest too much! I saw HER standing there, give me a break! Okay, enough about that. He just didn't do it for me (wonder why). Okay, okay, I'll stop. The phrasing was off and it was more Muzak than rock and roll. He may be in danger.

Amanda (5709) always wears they same type of outfit every time. Amanda is a Harley riding nurse in case you didn't know. She's singing "You can't do that" which she hadn't heard until this week but she's going to put The Amanda Spin on it (Let's hope she spins it right off the stage). (Pause) Well, I don't think the Idol Stage has ever seen anything like that! She rocked it out and I kinda dug it. I just wish her annunciation was better. I wonder what VFTW is going to do. Don't like the hair extensions. The judges like it. Who decided that all rockers have to stick out their tongues and give the horns?

If we didn't have a commercial break after EVERY performance, we wouldn't have to have a two hour show!

Michael Lee Johns (5710) is an Aussie that coaches tennis. He is singing "Across the Universe" which has personal meaning. (Pause) I have to admit, he's pretty good but I'm still not voting for him. Randy thought this was sleepy but didn't think Brooke was sleep inducing? Whatev! The judges (except for Paula) are hard on him guaranteeing him to go on to next week (like he isn't already a lock for the top 4).

Kristy Lee Cook (5711) is telling as all about the small town she's from. What?!? No mention of the horse she sold?!? What is this world coming to?!? Her song is "Eight Days a Week" countrified! (Pause) Yuck!! I've never liked anything she has done and this is no exception. Paula didn't like it and said so! I think that's the harshest she has ever been. None of the judges liked it.

For the second time this season, David A. Kermit the Star Search Boy (5712) gets the pimp spot. He doesn't like oldies. He's singing "We can Work It Out" Stevie Wonder-fied. (Pause) HOLY SHINOLA!! I can't believe how bad he did. YEAH!!! He forgot the words twice and the tongue was out in full force! He needs to put that stuff to help you stop biting your fingernails on his lips. Someone up there wanted me to REALLY enjoy the show tonight! I just hope he doesn't cry. The judges call him out on his crappy performance. Good! They should have. He didn't cry which was also a good thing.

Here are my standings as I see it, worst to first:
12. David A.
11. Kristy
10. David H.
9. Syesha
8. Ramiele
7. Brooke
6. David C.
5. Jason
4.
Michael
3. Amanda
2.
Carly
1. Chikezie

I do think that either Ramiele or David H. will be going home tomorrow.

How did you rank them? And who do you think is going home?

I'm Back!!!

Howdy! I've been away. My husband and I went to Atlantic City this past weekend with him mom and son. In the meantime, my TiVo has been very busy and I am very behind in everything. Right now, it's 8:15pm and I'm just getting around to starting the computer. The apartment is a mess so I had to AT LEAST clean the bathroom and the kitchen. I was also hungry so I had to eat. I'll have more time to blog tomorrow and Wednesday and I plan on covering a number of topics.

1. Atlantic City Trip - to include the odd weather, horrible outfits, the food and the numerous pairs of boobs I saw there.
2. Your Mama Don't Dance - I want to see if my new, strange love for this show transfers to the boys and their moms.
3. Update my food blog - I was a BAD girl!!!

Before I started doing this post, I was watching "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew." A guy I work with told me a I should watch it. I like the dancing but it is getting kind of old. But I still watch it for one reason...Jamal! He is great! I first saw him and another member of his dance crew (E-Knock) when they auditioned for "So You Think You Can Dance" last year. He said he could swing dance so the judges called him out on it. Here's the clip and it is awesome!

That is why I still watch that stupid show!

I think I can guess what you're thinking now: "What about American Idol? When the hell is she going to get to that!"

Am I right? Well, even if I'm not, it doesn't matter 'cause I'm talking about American Idol next!

My husband and I left for Rockville at 6:30 on Thursday evening. The trip to Rockville takes a minimum of 1 1/2 hours that is with out hitting bad traffic or really slow people. Normally, it takes closer to two hours but I was on a mission! I drove 6 miles an hour over the speed limit the whole way there and didn't stop to pee! I didn't think I was going to make it but I pulled into Kathleen's driveway at 7:59pm with thoughts of an 80's group sing running through my head! I made it! The show starts with Ryan and the kids in the red room but they aren't wearing matching outfits! No parachute pants! No big hair! No skinny ties! What the hell?!?! Blake Lewis is performing? Since when do they have guest performers during the semis? CRAP! No group sing! Anyway, Luke, Kady, Asia'h, and Danny are given the boot in the order and with increasing tears on the part of Ramiele. I even got teary for Danny. I thought he was very entertaining and I liked his voice which is more then I can say about the other three. We are down to 12 and I have no clue who I'm going to vote for...maybe pOtS and PaNs (Ramiele). It's looking like I might be a Worster again this year!

"We're the Kids in America"

If someone sings that Kim Wilde song, I'll vote for them and only them tonight! As long as they don't stuck (unless it's Amanda, go VFTW).

Paula is in rare form again! What is she on? She starts out the show babbling about the 80s and the hair and the makeup from back in the day. I have to agree that it would have been great to have someone rocking a pair parachute pants or a faux mullet!

Asia'h (5701) is coming out of the gate with Whitney. Good call Jennifer! That's not a good move. Paula's on her feet for the first time this season. I thought she was fairly good but not great. Simon calls her out on the singing Whitney thing (see High Lord Dave's Rules).

I wonder what Kady (5702) is going to sing? I'm not sure what the hell she's singing but it's not a good song and she's not doing a good job with it. Well, she's picked it up a little in the middle but I don't think it's going to be enough to save her. Bye-Bye Kady! Randy said this was a Queen song? Paula says Kady's magic is when she uses her soft voice. Paula's magic is in her Coke cup! Ba-dump-bump!! (Thank you! Thank you! I'm here all week! Don't forget to tip your waitress!) Simon says she's gloomy and in trouble.

Amanda (5703) is talking about her most embarrassing moment. Wasn't that last week? Anyway, Amanda growls "I hate myself for loving you" by Joan Jett. I think she does a good job on a song that almost any one can sing. I actually sang this song with a band live one not at the Holiday Inn in Manassas, VA! I did pretty good and they let me do "Vogue" a few weeks later! Back to the show, all of the judges loved it. Is this enough for VFTW to pick someone new? Naw! They stick with her because they know she will suck again...like on Showtunes Night!

Dueling plants are up after the break!

Carly (5704) did really well. She has a great voice and is going to go far in this competition. Man, I'm really going out on a limb with that prediction! Let's see if the judges liked her. Paula and Randy liked it but Simon thought she could do better. That's the way to pimp someone. If all three judges praised her, America would be lazy and not vote for her thinking that she was safe. Then again, it really doesn't matter what the vote count ends up being. It the powers that be don't like the outcome, they have the right to change it. It isn't a game show so they don't have to show the results...and they don't.

A Journey song for Kristy Lee Cook (5705). Hummmm. She also use to act like a dog. I would have liked to see that. She needs to go home. I don't care if she gets her horse back or not. The world has enough blond country singers and they are better then her. Carrie Underwood Lite is not needed. I do like her shirt. The pimping starts. Randy loved it and Paula has nothing but positivity. Simon thinks she's forgettable.

Pots and Pans (5706) is in the sixth spot. I was hoping that we would make it through 80's week without this song. "Against All Odds" is one of the songs that you either love or hate, nothing in between. I hate. She's not hitting this one out of park and it just seems like a good Karaoke version. And she always look like she's heading to the mall. Randy thought she could do better. Paula managed to speak for a long time and not say a thing! Simon calls it predictable. I agree.

Danny is wearing her glasses for some reason. They are rather large for this decade but they would fit right in back in the 80's.

Brooke (5707) is doing an Unplugged version of "Love is a Battlefield". She sounds good for the most part. The way she pronounces some of the words is odd. I don't think she's showing us anything new. (Randy just said that too!) Paula just keeps getting better and better as the night goes on. Simon loved it. I'm on the fence. After all the fuss over Brooke coming up with an unplugged version of this song all on her own, I hope someone finds the clip of Pat doing this on Unplugged (I may have to search myself).

I couldn't figure out who was last! I guess I don't need to tell you the Syesha (5708) is not one of my faves. OMG. More Whitney. Who saw that coming? Yeah, me too. She sounds pretty good and will make it to the top 12. I think her outfit was a bad choice. The judges are quick with their comments because of Paula's earlier ramblings.

I don't really feel like voting for any of them. Who are you voting for? I need help!

ETA:
That didn't take long. Here's Pat unplugged.
